One thing I found strange was the extra charge for after hours drop off which in my case was 12 hours earlier than the 3 days I rented the van for. First time I experienced this compared to many rentals with other companies who welcome drop off any time for free.
There was acceptable rates, i was accepting cheaper. It was nice assistance during pick-up. Over-all good experience.
It was my first time using AVR and when I got there, 3/4 attendants were on their cell phone and didn't even look up until the 1 person helping a customer said hello to me and asked if I needed help. He was clearly the only one who cared to work there. The person who assisted me, Jeffrey, acted like I was wasting his time and made me feel guilty and bad about not getting extra liability insurance nor gas through the company. He gave me a crappy vehicle, remote didn't work, car was falling apart.
We waited at airport for the shuttle for 20 minutes. When they arrived rhe driver rudely informed us that she only had room for 2 people. We ended up hiring a taxi to pick up the van. When we arrived to pick up the van we were told there was none available. I asked why and again was rudely told that they were over booked and if I wanted a van that I reserved I would have to wait for one to return. I was offered no discount or incentive to ever use this place again. Terrible experience with AVR!
They were all very helpful especially when my bank declined the charge because they thought it was fraudulent. One of the employees helped me find the number for my bank since it was Sunday.

Way overpriced for a car with 80,000 miles .
Staff very poor in handling and pushy on selling insurance .
Don't penalize the day staff. It's your evening staff that are rude and not familiar with the computer and make you way beachside of their lack of. They need to be retrained.
