We felt like we were baited and switched. We had a confirmation email on price and vehicle and when we got there, it was not available and they charged us $400 more for the one they gave us. We heard the same thing happening to another family when we returned the van. Would definitely not use or recommend again. It also was very difficult getting back to the airport upon return. If we had not been so early, we would have easily missed our flight.
Great experience
The van was old and in a poor condition. The wipers made lot of noise and not proper cleaning. It was very difficult to drive in the rain.
Van rattle and shook at speeds above 30 MPH. Wheels not balanced, front end alignment horrible. Could not hear inside vehicle due to the rattles and wheel noise.- like u were riding in a wind tunnel. No USB ports for cell phone charging. No ability to stream music from iPhone device. Mileage limited to 250/ day - was not known at time of rental on line. Felt unsafe in this vehicle with my family. Vehicles were old and not well maintained. Would not recommend AVR to others. Rent cheap get cheap
Taxes & fees were not included in the price quote which added substantially to the price. Overall our experience was great though.
Rental desk computer was slow.
I am really pleased with my choice to go with AVR after searching almost every van reservation center in Chicago. I got the best price and a decent van. Cheers AVR!!!
Fantastic experience.
Staff was not sure if our Canadian driver's license is valid to drive in California but offered an insurance cover costing $50. We find it strange that an insurance coverage will make it valid. A real concern is the after-hours return of the vehicle. Leaving the vehicle overnight in an unlocked premises makes one opens the possibility of theft or vandalism which could be unnecessarily attributed to the renter.
The van didn't work properly. On the third day of rental the car started acting up. The forth day when the van was in between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm started shaking. This continued on day 5. The rental company refunded 1 day of rental.
