Worst car rental experience ever - and I never ended up renting the car. They left me waiting for the shuttle for over an hour, what they wanted to charge me was not what I was quoted, the service was beyond awful. End result, I left along with 2 other customers and had the shuttle take us back to the airport where I made arrangements with another company. Terrible, terrible experience that almost left me stranded for my stay. I will never ever use them and they really don't care anyway.
I didn't know they were located out of the airport. It says on my reservation it was through the airport, so I had to wait to be picked up. They should contact their customers and find out when their coming and be ready
Took a while to get picked up. Worth the wait for the price and quality of the car. Check out was a breeze.
By far the worst experience I've ever had. The staff and manager was unknowlegable about FL state law on licenses, they're draconian 'up charges' for insurance even when providing personal insurance proof (electronic vs needing paper yet they provide no printing option on site) and attempting to limit miles -- this place should be on the BBB watchlist. After 2 hrs of fighting and giving up, I said just give me my reserved convertible. And.. They didn't have one. I walked out.
I would not recommend this company. They said I can use my own insurance as long as I brought my card. So I did. When I got there did they tell me they only accepted a handful of personal insurances. I read all the fine print. Never was this mentioned before. So I had to pay 4 times as much as I was expecting because they made me buy their insurance.
They also charged me an extra day when I returned the car back at 4pm instead of noon even though I had written confirmation that I could do that

No bus for pick up, minivan, had to wait

Poor location, after taking a train from the airport to the rentals car station you have to take an additional bus because RentMax is located even further than all the other rental car companies. On my reservation it was showing UNLIMITED MILES, that's the reason I booked it, but when I picked up the car I had to BUY additional $40 for extra miles. If you have a Florida license do not rent from this agency!
