I regularly rent vehicles in LA. I would always go for one of the cheapest quotes but, like many reviewers generally had problems in one way or another. Now I try to use MCar as my go to company. The rates are competitive and, so far, the service is so much better than the bottom end companies.
Mcar is second to none for car rental in Los Angeles. The best!

MCAR was GREAT. Only thing, they currently are doing construction (Feb. 2017) and for someone with a bad knee, it
was difficult, but not impossible, to get my luggage from the shuttle into the office and out of the office at arrival. I did not
have to go back into the office at return. I would highly recommend MCAR. Just this one thing of which to be aware.
rental car did not have plates on it but did have a temp sticker on the windshield,however i still got pulled over 4 times and was essentially let go once they ran the sticker information but this was an inconvenience
My favorite American Airlines stewardess recommended that I try MCar for better rates on my rental. She was right. My rate was much better and the car was in very nice condition. I appreciated how fast the shuttle picked me up and then took me back from the airport. MCar was much faster then my prior car rental company.
