Pickup and drop off was very easy. This was the cheapest option so price was fantastic but the car we had was dinged up which that alone would not be a huge deal as you cannot control how people take care of the car but the bigger concern was the breaks badly needed to be done. Car was shaky upon breaking and would squeak when coming to a stop. Car also badly needed either an alignment or balancing as it was extremely shaky when accelerating and worse on the highway 55+. Thanks
They never sent me the car that I ordered where it was located on the lot. There was no one in the building to talk to. I thought I had to buy insurance to get the car, but I didn’t have to so I wasted all that money I needed more miles and didn’t realize I was limited to 100 miles a day, which is ridiculous.I had to rent for two extra days to get extra miles so I wouldn’t have to pay a dollar a mile. I’m going on Yelp to tell people never to use this car rental.
Upon arrival, the car was filthy. No one had bothered to clean it. It ran poorly. It had 2 sunburst cracks in the windshield, which is both unsafe, and illegal. I didn't get my instructions to get the car until I was in the shuttle on the way to the parking lot.
I did not receive the booking information/where to pick up the rental car. It never arrived prior to me getting to the car lot. No one was in the lobby. I tried calling, there was no answer. I called more, and then I got a text to stop calling. I traveled and was expecting what I reserved. The agent only communicated through texts. Again, I just wanted what I reserved (and paid for) without a hassle, and with customer service. Very disappointed.
They don't have staff, only chatbots and shuttles so these questions are hard to answer. I know what I was quoted and that they took a deposit, but don't know for sure what the final total was until my deposit is returned. (for Q2) They have hundreds of poor reviews, many, many more than positive reviews online. I was a little scared to rent from them. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth though. WAY too many attempts to upsell me, and that is annoying.
When I arrived, no one was available to talk to. I followed protocol and managed everything electronically. Finally, a representative came and gave me the keys to the car. As soon as I got in the car, I was hit with an overwhelmingly strong pot smoke odor. Due to my schedule, I didn't have time to request a different vehicle. I had to get to my client. I was then sent a text stating there would be a late return fee. I'm requesting a refund due to the odor and poor customer service!
Getting a rental car at the Phoenix airport is a rugged experience at best. I opted to try Carzi with the "touch less" service and was pleased to find everything was fast and efficient for both pick up and drop off - so MUCH BETTER than waiting in line with the rest of the cattle at the "counter". I rented an economy vehicle, so I'm not sure what the quality of an upgraded vehicle would have been, but the economy corolla was adequate and in satisfactory condition.
Because I paid with a debit I was charged an extra $25/day and even though I offered to put the payment on a regular credit card I was not given the option and still charged $25/day!
So far, after I figured everything out, the rental experience was great.
Good deal.
