I reserved a car rental from the location in Hamilton. When I called for a shuttle, I only got an answering machine. After about 20 minutes, I reached someone from Toronto. He told me that the office in Hamilton was closed. I did not get an email to notify me that this was the case. He said that I could get a rental from Toronto for the same price. I decided to rent from another company because I did not have a way to get to Toronto. This review is based on my interaction with this employee.

I booked this rental through a affiliate site for an attractive rate but this site restricted me to only making a reservation 24 hours in advance. When I called Routes to have this reservation modified to an earlier pickup date, the rate quoted for picking up the vehicle a day earlier was almost double. Upon picking up the vehicle I noticed a surplus of vehicles, so the inflated quote for the first day seemed unjustified. The same is true for extending the duration of the rental.

They seemed to have all kinds of excuses as to why they did not have the SUV upgrade that we had requested. Anyhow they gave us a Nissan Ultima instead which was fine. The car wasn't all that clean and not sure if they have a legal right to actually pick you up at the airport or not....that was a tad questionable!

I do not rent too often but I was quite satisfied with this car rental company and would rent from them again. My only suggestion is that their hours of operation be expanded allowing more flexabilty for travelers without extra charges. Opening at 8 in the AM seems a bit late when servicing the Airport guests. Opening at 7 AM would have saved me $25 extra. Although I do appreciate having that service available where it was no issue to have someone there for my convenience.

I reserved my car online for free mileage, but I was charged .15 per kilometer above 200KM, even it was clear on my reservation paper that it was free mileage, they said it had tiny fonts saying that I was not eligible for free mileage Car was dirty inside Staff did not know to answer my questions about the free mileage they were suppose to give me I will never rent it again through here.... horrible service!! they played dirty putting such information in very small fonts
