I understand that it is "Cayman Time" but how slow does the pick up need to be. I was second in line and someone helped me 46 minutes later.
Ladies were nice in arranging the rental and were able to give us a car that we could roll down the windows since the first car they were going to give us had issues. The only problem we had was a delay in checking out because they forgot to switch the car number on our paperwork to the second car that we actually rented. I would use them again.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Andy's is conveniently located just a one minute walk across the street from the airport terminal. Drop off arrangements were very convenient for my early departure. It was a pleasure to do business with this local Grand Cayman car rental agency.
I requested a full seize car. I received a Chry. 300 that was 10 to 15 years old. When the attendant delivered the car to me both front windows were down. As I drove off I put both front windows up and to my disappointment I was unable to see clearly out the drivers side window. In fact everything was blurry with no depth perception. I had to return the car because it was unsafe. The Cayman Island office is understaff and I had wait 40 minutes once I got on line before getting to an employee
Went smoothly and they honored my requests.
Requested mid-size car/received KIA Rio; considered 'compact' or 'subcompact' by many agencies. Inadequate for 4 plus luggage. Rented mid-size before with Andy's/never received car this small. Had to change to full size KIA Optima/more roomy than Rio. However, rate charged was weekly $229/daily $38.24 but online rate is weekly $195/daily $32.50. Given 20% discount which helped but rates should not have been different. Net T&M charged $244.38 but with 20% off would have been $208.
Check in was terrible. One person who was not knowledgeable about the process very slow and there were 5 families to wait on with one person behind the counter. When you know there are people signed up for a certain time the process could be expedited by at least 2 people behind the counter
Return was quick by the supervisor who was efficient and pleasant and very helpful
