Winnipeg - the largest Canadian prairie city

The word Winnipeg is loosely translated as "dark water", from the Cree language, and refers to the many lakes and rivers of the region. The city itself wraps around a river and has many fine views. The city has a substantial population of more than 600,000 people and is home to the University of Manitoba.
