MCar does require 24- 48 hours advance notice for a request for a vehicle with hand controls.
Pre-paid rentals that are paid in advance are non refundable. They may not be modified or cancelled. The credit card that is used to pay for the reservation in advance must be presented at the counter with the driver's license in the same name.
No refunds will be provided for no show, cancelled or modified reservations.
Midway Car rental LAX shuttle information
OPTION 1
Upon arrival to LAX, please proceed to the Lower/Arrivals level inner curb under the PINK sign the reads “LAX SHUTTLES”. Look for the BLUE shuttle “Economy Lot E” and inform the driver that you would like to go to the “Remote Rental Car Depot”. Upon your arrival to the “Remote Rental Car Depot”, you will be met by the Midway representative and you will be shuttled to the office.
OPTION 2
If you don’t mind a short walk after your flight, feel free to walk to our office location. We are 1 block from the LAX Airport. Approximately a 7-10 minute walk from Terminals 1-3
The LAX office is open every day 7AM-9PM. You must arrive during operating hours to pick up your vehicle.
Due to recent statutes and case law in California, the rental of 15 Passenger Vans has been restricted for personal use only unless the renter and operator of the vehicle have a valid Class B Drivers License or the equivalent commercial operator license from the state or country in which they reside.
Furthermore, all renters of 15 Passenger Vans will receive a copy of the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's consumer advisory for 15-Passenger Vans titled "Reducing the Risk of Rollover Crashes" or, if that advisory is updated, a copy of the updated advisory. The renter shall acknowledge receipt of that copy by signing an acknowledgment of receipt on the rental agreement or on an attached form.
MCar maintains a fleet of 7 and 8 passenger mini-vans and SUVs that do not require any special driver's license. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can serve your transportation needs.

Our rates are on a 24 hour time clock and you are given a 59 minute grace period to return your vehicle before it turns into another day charge.
When you book a reservation on our website and receive a confirmation, the rate that you have booked is for the location on the confirmation only. If you wish to move your reservation to another location your rate may be subject to change, as each location has their own rates.
If your vehicle is needed beyond the due date stated at the time of opening the contract, the customer MUST return to the original rental office and sign a new contract. The rate is subject to change.
When a vehicle is reserved and rented, the confirmed rate is only good during that specific time period. Any extension, or revision of the original reservation of any amount of time, will result in a rate change. Rates are not pro-rated.
The rates for our confirmed reservations are only good for the reservation location that is on the confirmation. If you wish to move your reservation to another location, we suggest cancelling your reservation and creating a new reservation for the location that you need.
You are required to also present a second means of identification with your signature. Any second means of I.D. with a signature is acceptable such as a department store card, library card, etc. ;however, it should not be the same as the credit identification. (For example, if you are using American Express for the rental, a different means of identification with a signature must be shown.)
If you have a driver's license from outside of the US, you must have a passport present with you in your name.
Southern California residents picking up a car at any location are also required to bring with them, at the time of pick up, a utility bill from their current home address with their name on it. Without this additional means of ID, the car will not be issued.
Domestic rental reservations will be held 3 hours from the booked rental time before the car is released. International reservations will be held for 4 hours from the booked rental time.
The LAX office is open Mon-Sun 7AM-9PM. If you do not arrive by your scheduled pick up time, your reservation will be cancelled.
Occasionally MCar may use your email address to send you additional information regarding MCar and specials that we are having.
We will not let any other marketing company have your email address. If you wish to decline any offers from us and not be included in our specials and promotions emails, please email us at and we will have your name removed immediately.
All drivers must have a valid driver's license in their possession to rent a vehicle. No copies or faxed licenses will be accepted at any time. The original license must be presented, and must be in the name of the driver.
The renter's driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.
If a driver's license is not from the United States, the renter must have a passport present in their name.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a valid driver's license. An IDP must always be presented in conjunction with the official drivers license of the issuing country.
Midway will not rent to a holder of a license that restricts them to daytime driving only or to business driving only.
A learner's permit is not accepted. A valid temporary license is accepted.
Expired licenses will not be accepted.
Midway vehicles are permitted to enter California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah only. If your rental agreement states "unlimited" mileage, it is unlimited mileage in the state of CA. NV, AZ, and UT only.
The charge card must be in the renters name. Check or cash cards are not accepted as credit identification at the beginning of the rental. They can be used; however, at the end of the rental for payment of rental charges. Pre-paid credit cards or secured cards are not accepted at any time. Debit cards with Visa Logos may be accepted on short term- standard car rentals. Debit cards may not be used for all vehicle rentals. See your customer service agent for details.
A minimum of $350 must be available on a major credit card for a standard car rental of one day. This increases based on the length of the rental. See customer service agent for limits required on specialty vehicles. A minimum deposit of $ be available on a debit card, proof of residency, or utility bill, and a current driver's license must accompany it. See the manager regarding Debit use for Luxury rentals. Acceptable credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Diners Club, Visa, Discover Card. Please feel free to contact your MCar Representative in advance to get an estimate of your credit card authorization.
Midway does not guarantee specific brands or colors of vehicles at any time. If the vehicle that you reserved is not available, an alternate or upgraded vehicle may be assigned at management discretion.
One-way rentals are based on availability, must be returned in CA, and a one-way service fee applies. Check with the nearest Midway Rental reservation office for details.
Cars that receive unlimited mileage are approved for unlimited mileage in the state of CA, NV, AZ, and UT only.
Reservations are valid and honored for up to three hours after the requested pick up time; however, this must be during the hours of operation. If the vehicle is not picked up within three hours of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. We ask that you contact Midway if you need to change the pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems.
For standard cars (full-size cars and smaller) you may cancel the same day with no penalty. For all SUVs and VANS, 24 hour cancellation is required by email or phone to avoid penalty fees. For all LUXURY and SPECIALTY reservations, 48 hours advance cancellation is required.
In California, the renter is liable for all damage to the Midway vehicle regardless of fault. The renter is also liable for loss of use of the vehicle (revenue lost while the car is being repaired).
Renters may purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which relieves them of all financial responsibility for loss or damage to the MCar vehicle as long as they comply with the terms of the rental agreement. In California, CDW does not relieve the renter for theft resulting from failure to use ordinary care. Cost of CDW will vary by car, group, and rate. Please check with the rental agent or nearest Midway reservation center for details.
If you have rental car coverage through your personal insurance or charge card, CDW offers maximum protection while your personal insurance or charge card coverage may contain a deductible. If you have any questions, check with your insurance provider.
Personal Accident Coverage provides medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the Midway vehicle.
The renter is covered 24 hours a day during the rental for the following: $1, coverage for injuries due to an accident, $250 for ambulance expenses.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) may be purchased at time of rental and provides the renter with supplemental insurance coverage from the California State Limits of $35,000 to $1 million.
Public Liability and Property Damage: Midway meets the financial responsibility laws of the State of California. In California, no liability coverage is provided to the renter/driver unless Renter's Liability Protection is purchased or renter has his/her own policy as required by state law. Proof of liability coverage is required by state law.
Renters may purchase Renter's Liability Protection (RLP) at the time of rental.
Liability coverage is required in the state of CA. Liability coverage does not cover your rental car, it covers any damage that your vehicle would cause to any 3rd party property. Liability coverage provides third party liability protection for bodily injury ($15,000 per person, $30,000 per accident) and property damage ($5,000) to third parties, as mandated and at the limits required by California.
If you purchase the SLI/RLP protection package, it will provide third party liability protection for bodily injury and property damage in excess of any existing insurance, from the states minimum limits to one million dollars.
Renters in California who purchase RLP will receive California required liability coverage. Check with the rental agent or nearest Midway reservation center for cost and availability of RLP.
WARNING TO RENTERS: Your personal automobile insurance carrier or insurance provided by your credit card company may provide some of the optional coverage listed above. Please check with your insurance carrier and/or your credit card company before you purchase to avoid duplicate coverage. Please be advised that your optional coverage may be void if the damage or loss results from an authorized driver's (A) intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct, (B) operation of the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, (C) towing or pushing anything, (D) operation of the vehicle on an unpaved road if the damage or loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions, (E) used for commercial hire, (F) used in connection with conduct that could be properly charged as a felony, (G) involved in a speed test or contest or in driver training activity, (H) operated by a person other than an authorized driver, (I) operated outside of the United States, (J) renter provided fraudulent information to the rental company, (K) carry hazardous material, or (L) provided false information and the rental company would not have rented the vehicle if it had instead received true information.
Rates are in U.S. dollars (USD). The rate of exchange at the end of the rental applies.
Taxes are additional. State tax is added to all rentals.
Each location has its own independent rates. If you wish to move your reservation from one location to another, please check with the office and they can let you know the new rate that will apply if necessary.
Additional mandatory charges may be imposed, including, but not limited to, a customer facility charge, airport concession fee, tourism commission assessment, vehicle license recovery fee, or other government imposed taxes or fees. At the time of rental an additional driver must be at least 21 years of age, present a valid drivers license, present a Midway honored charge card, and complete an additional driver form. For certain vehicles, 25 year old age restrictions might be in effect.
There is no charge for additional drivers for rentals beginning at this location. However, all additional drivers must have their own credit card, in their name, present with them at the time of the rental.
There is no charge for one added driver if over the age of 25.
Child Safety Seats are available at this location with a minimum of 24-hour advance booking. Since availability at times is limited, please reserve child seats in advance.
Ski Racks are not available at this location. Snow Chains are not available at this location. Midway vehicles are equipped with all weather tires
Contract violations include, but are not limited to :
1. Driving the vehicle outside of CA, NV, UT, or AZ.
2. Driving while intoxicated
3. Towing of any sort
4. Failure to return the rental vehicle by due date
5. Operation of the vehicle by someone who is not listed as an authorized driver on the contract
6. Failure to pay all charges listed on the contract at time of return
If arrangements are made in advance, you may pick up your vehicle at one Midway location and return to another Midway location. The drop off fee begins at $35.00. Please contact a location manager for your exact fee.
Many of our vehicles are not equipped with a GPS navigation system; however, GPS systems may be rented at the counter when you rent your vehicle. GPS systems may only be rented if you are renting a vehicle from us. For additional questions regarding GPS systems please contact the office directly.
Additional drivers must be present to be added to the contract.
We do not have after hours returns at this location.
You must be a minimum age of 21 to rent a standard car. Most premium and luxury vehicles require an age minimum of 25. Please call the office directly for specific information on age requirements.

The authorization for your credit card will vary based on car type and length of rental. The deposit will be the total amount of the rental, plus additional funds. Address and phone number verification may be performed at the time you pick up the vehicle. Debit Cards are not accepted. The name on both Drivers license and Credit Card must match. All renters will need to show 3rd form of ID. Accepted 3rd forms of ID: Passport, Military ID, 2nd Credit Card, Costco/Sams Club, and Work Photo ID Badge. There is a minimum deposit of $ expected rental charge, deposits will increase in relation to the vehicle being rented. Please be advised that, authorizations or refunds may take up to 14 days to be posted to your account.
Pre-paid reservations may not be cancelled or modified. These are non refundable reservations.
