Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis Airport is the second busiest airport in Greece. It is located 5 kilometers east of Heraklion town centre. There is one terminal at the airport serving domestic and international flights. The terminal is open 24 hours per day. There are many accommodations for disabled travelers, including parking spaces, ramps, and toilets. Travelers should arrive at the airport a minimum of 2 hours prior to the time of their flight departure in order to pass through the security checkpoints at the airport.
