John F Kennedy Airport - Extra Information

Empire Rent A Car and Image Rent A Car, which are not located directly at the airport counter, are great choices.  Be sure to keep the independent agency's phone number in your cell phone so that you can call them immediately upon arrival. You can check their shuttle services.  Alternately, there are limos and taxis serving the airport.

JFK has 8 Terminals and the AirTrain is one of the easiest ways to get to/from/around JFK International Airport.  This system offers connections with MTA New York City Transit subways, the Long Island Rail Road and buses.  Best of all, you can ride AirTrain from one terminal to another absolutely free!  

If you are like most passengers and have loads of time to kill between connecting flights, you will not be bored at JFK.  There is so much to do, see and eat.

Food: If you are into foreign cuisine then be sure to eat at Eat & Go Istanbul, Wok & Rock or the Euro Cafe.  If you feel like taking a load off and really relaxing, get something to drink at Idlewild Wine Bar or Martini Bar.  And for those of you that are more partial to standard fast food, do not fret.  JFK has McDonald's, Sbarro and Panini Express.

Shops:  What better way to kill time than to shop!  JFK is laden with great shops, boutiques, toy stores and newsstands.  For those who want to burn a whole in their wallet, be sure to visit Bulgari, Cartier, Mont Blanc and Salvatore Ferragamo.  If you would like to pamper yourself then go to the L'Occitane kiosk and purchase some pampering creams and perfumes.  For those of you traveling with children, be sure to drop into the Toy Store, where your little ones are sure to be entertained.
