I have never been into flashy sports vehicles - it simply hasn't ever been my thing. Perhaps it's because I've always thought that they are too expensive so why bother dreaming about something that I can never have? That said, I have two brothers and I know for a fact that they they would disagree with me. Both they and my father probably wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take, for example, a Lamborghini Gallardo for a test drive. And you know what, I'll be honest here, I don't think I'd pass on the opportunity either.
Watching this video (featured in the National Post) is what brought on this particular blog topic. Watch it and if you were ever anti- sports car before, my guess is that your opinion has now altered, if not at least slightly. How gorgeous are these cars?? And how amazing would it be to take one on a tour, of all places, through Italy? I think my new dream vacation is to find a great car rental deal for a Lamborghini and take a wine/restaurant tour through Northern Italy. Fancy cars, wine and delicious food... hello.... does it get any better than that?
And if you can't find a good car rental deal for a Lamborguini, do not fret. Look for the cheapest car rentals you can find, fly to Italy and head north. According to Frommer's, "With such a long laundry list of historical treasures, epicurean pleasures, and equally tempting outdoor resorts, the hardest part of planning a trip to northern Italy will be deciding where to spend your time."
Now... I just need to ask the boss for some time off... :).
