It’s 3:30 pm on a very hot Wednesday — I would say it’s pushing 35 degrees Celsius where I’m sitting in Ra’anana, Israel. I have abandoned my home office and am happily sitting at a local café with a sweating glass of crisp white wine. I was lucky today and found free parking for my rental car so with the money I am saving I can afford a small glass. What a treat to be able to sit here in the shade and type away on my laptop. One of the many luxuries of working virtually — I can pretty much plop myself anywhere as long as I have an internet connection. It’s nice to get out of my home office and be in the “real” world for a few hours. It’s also a good excuse to get out of my pyjamas!
A Dream of Italian Wineries
I won’t lie — I love wine. It’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures. I like to remind myself that it can actually be good for you (if drunk in moderation of course). Without a doubt one of my biggest dreams is to fly to Italy, rent an affordable car, and tour the country’s wineries. I’d love to visit Tuscany and sip my way through Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Nobile di Montepulciano, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Carmignano, and Bolgheri.
Israeli Wineries — A Closer Alternative
Since it doesn’t look like I will make it to Italy any time soon, I have to be content with the wines that Israel offers — and there are many. I will have to find an affordable rental car here and taste my way through Israeli wineries. Definitely a fun project!
