Summer has been great. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Toronto and Vancouver from Israel this past month. I packed up my 3 daughters and we boarded the plane for Pearson nearly 3 weeks ago. The flight was full, we weren’t sitting together and the food was terrible. Needless to say, we made it in one piece which is the most important thing of all.
Toronto — Aquariums, Towers, and City Life
We’ve been doing lots of great things in Toronto. I rented an affordable car and we headed to Ripley’s Aquarium and spent hours admiring beautiful fish, sharks and jellyfish. We went on a Saturday — something I do not recommend considering there were about 8 billion people there at the same time. After that we hit the CN Tower and enjoyed the spectacular view of the Toronto skyline.
Vancouver — Family, Friends, and Road Trips
A week into our trip we flew to Vancouver, saved some money using car rental coupons, and drove all over the place. We visited family and friends in Vancouver proper, Burnaby, South Surrey, White Rock and Langley. Honestly, I don’t know what I would have done without my rental car — we would have spent a fortune on buses, taxis and trains. Check out our British Columbia travel guide for more ideas on exploring this beautiful province.
Cottage Country — The Perfect Finale
We spent our final week in Toronto and were lucky enough to have a couple of days at my brother’s cottage on the lake. We spent the days waterskiing, tubing, swimming and boating. I cannot complain — we have been spoiled rotten! It’s back to reality in a couple of days — but it really has been a great summer!
Whether you’re exploring Toronto’s iconic attractions or driving through British Columbia’s stunning scenery, a rental car makes all the difference. Canada is a country best experienced on the road.
