Inside the San Diego International Airport, the terminals are lined up with familiar places to eat and drink. For those needing some early morning java, there are a number of places to choose from. The Karl Strauss Bar is conveniently located in both Terminals 1 and 2.
 
The restaurants near San Diego are notable for their excellent cuisine and atmosphere. If you've got the time, grab a cheap SAN rental car and head off to one. The Gaslamp Quarter is a hot night spot for those who want a club experience and good food. Here, outstanding ethnic restaurants abound. Anthony’s Fish Grotto in Old Town San Diego with its walk-up window is  celebrated, in particular, for its simple yet delicious fish and chips. You can tell that these restaurants are good because the locals love them.

Island Prime is a fabulous restaurant that serves seafood and steak and it's less than a mile from the airport. If it's Italian food you crave, head off to Cucina Urbana. The service is friendly and the food is great. A fantastic view and amazing food is what you will get at C Level. Get a cheap SAN car rental and head off to this local favorite. The trip is well worth it as you will be rewarded with an amazing view of San Diego Harbor and great sea food, fresh from the ocean.

It's literally a 'hole in the wall' with walk-up window service only, but Mexican Fiesta located in the Little Italy area of San Diego, is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around. They use only the freshest ingredients and you'll be amazed at the price.
