Local Transportation: While LAX offers free shuttle service between terminals, transportation from the airport to hotels are provided by hotels. You can access the hotel shuttles at the lower arrival level islands, located in front of each terminal. Public transportation is the most cost effective. Layovers at LAX
Whether your layover at LAX Airport is a few hours or several days there will be things for you to do in and around the airport:
Take a tour - The LA City Guided Tour will pick you up at the airport. It's a 3-hour tour of Hollywood and the homes of movie stars.
Relax at the spa - There is a spa nearby called The Body Wellness Clinic. It's located 1/4 mile from LAX.
Play a round of golf - The Westchester Golf Course opened in 1969 and is only a few minutes from the airport. It's open daily until 10pm so get out on the links for an enjoyable afternoon (or evening) of golf.
Head downtown - Getting to downtown Los Angeles usually takes about 30-60 minutes. If you have a long layover then head downtown and visit MOCA, Chinatown, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Music Center, LA Flower District, Shopping Districts, California Market Center, or LA Fashion District.
Hit the beach or take a break at the park - There are two beaches near the airport: Dockweiler State Beach and Porto State Beach. Palisades Park is another beautiful outdoor spot about seven miles from the airport.
