Boston – Cradle of Liberty

As the home of the American Revolution, Boston Massachusetts is known as The Cradle of Liberty. Other well known city monikers include, "The Hub" or "Bean-town".  It is home to almost 600,000 residents, making it the tenth most populated city in the United States. Boston is the capital of Massachusetts, and is a historic city known for its educational institutions, diverse neighborhoods and high-tech sector. The city is located on Massachusetts Bay, at the mouths of the Charles and Mystic rivers, and is named after a town in Lincolnshire, England. Though the city is a wonderful walking city, renting a car in Boston from CRX would be a good thing to do, so you are able to visit the tremendous diversity of tourist attractions and places of interest.

Encompassing $363 billion, the Greater Boston area’s economy is the sixth largest in the United States. The high-tech sector is the 4th largest in the country, and is also a powerful economic force in the region.

Of course, because Boston is steeped in incredible American history, tourists are drawn by the millions every year, and contribute almost 7.9 billion dollars into the local economy.

The Boston region has over 100 colleges and universities, which contribute an estimated 8.4 billion dollars into the local economy annually and serves over 250,000 students. Boston College, a private Catholic Jesuit University, has a huge presence in the city and is its 4th largest employer.  Harvard across the Charles River in Cambridge is the nation’s oldest university and well worth driving your Boston rental car from CRX to visit.

Boston is a mecca for tourists. There are so many varied places to visit you may well need to rent a car in Boston from CRX for a couple of weeks, or more, to take in all the region has to offer.

If you like live entertainment, Boston is home to many venues including venerable institutions like the Boston Opera House, Citi Performing Arts Center, The Colonial Theater, The Boston Symphony, The Boston Ballet, and many of the Boston region’s outdoor summer festivals.

If you’re a sports fan, there is no shortage of teams to see. Hop in your Boston sports car rental from CRX to get in the spirit, and head to the TD Gardens to catch a Bruins or Celtics game, or to the venerable Fenway park, home to the beloved Red Sox – don’t miss a game while you’re in town. Finally you’ll need to rent a vehicle in Boston from CRX to head out and see the New England Patriots in Foxborough, about half way between Boston and Providence RI, but it is well worth the drive.
