Los Angeles - Theater and Events

The city of Los Angeles is bursting with theater productions and cultural activities that are sure to please all sorts of interests.  Drive your LA rental car to any information center to pick up a listing of current events.

Theaters

The Kodak Theater - This theater is perhaps one of the most famous in Los Angeles because of the many celebrities who have performed here.  Some of these include: Stevie Wonder, Melissa Etheridge, Barry Manilow, Alicia Keys and Celine Dion.  The facility boasts an incredible 3,332 seats and is home to the annual Academy Awards.  Other events and Television shows that take place here are the Daytime Emmy Awards, the AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards, the ESPY Awards and, of course, is home to the American Idol finals.  You don't need to be famous however to visit this theater.  Park your Los Angeles car rental outside its glamorous doors and take a guided theater tour.  These are offered most days of the week.

The Music Box - The Music Box is a theatrical hotspot for a variety of musical productions, premieres, fundraisers, and dance productions.  This facility is also commonly used for wrap parties once large movie and TV productions have concluded.

The Orpheum Theater - This theater has a rich and interesting history.  Having opened in 1926, the Orpheum Theater has hosted a variety of legendary performers.  Some of these include: Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horn, Little Richard and Aretha Franklin.  In more recent years, much of the filming of "American Idol" is filmed here as well as other movie shoots, TV shows and music videos.
