If only they would honor credit cards that are issued with a pin and a zip-code it would only be that much better. I for one can not wait for that to take place since I only use those type of cards to elliminate fruard and ID Theft.

Hand Control Information
Midway Car Rental does require 24- 48 hours advance notice of a request for a vehicle with hand controls.

Lax Shuttle Information
The LAX office is located at 6151 W. Century Blvd.
Please take the YELLOW Quikpark shuttle, under the RED sign to our office. If you have any difficulty finding the shuttle, you may contact the Quikpark shuttle directly at .
You must have your driver's license, and credit card with you. If you will be providing your own insurance for your rental, please bring your insurance card with you. All documents must be in your name.
If you are a Los Angeles resident, you must bring a current utility bill in your name, with your current address, to the rental office.

The LAX office is open MON-FRI 6A-11pm SAT/SUN 8a-9pm. You must arrive during operating hours to pick up your vehicle.

15 Passenger Van Rentals
Due to recent statutes and case law in California, the rental of 15 Passenger Vans has been restricted for personal use only unless the renter and operator of the vehicle have a valid Class B Drivers License or the equivalent commercial operator license from the state or country in which they reside.

Further, all renters of 15 Passenger Vans will receive a copy of the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's consumer advisory for 15-passenger vans titled "Reducing the Risk of Rollover Crashes" or, if that advisory is updated, a copy of the updated advisory. The renter shall acknowledge receipt of that copy by signing an acknowledgment of receipt on the rental agreement or on an attached form

Midway Car rental maintain a fleet of 7 and 8 passenger mini-vans and SUVs that do not require any special drivers license. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can serve your transportation needs.

Our rates
Our rates are on a 24 hour time clock, and you are given a 59 minute grace period to return your vehicle, before it turns into another day charge.

Contract Rates
If your vehicle is eeded beyond the due date stated at the time of the opening of the contract, the customer MUST return to the original rental office and sign a new contract. The rate is subject to change.

When a vehicle is reserved and rented, the confirmed rate is only good during that specific time period. Any extension, or revision of the orginal reservation of any amount of time will result in a rate change. Rates are not pro-rated.

Second Means of Identification
You are required to also present a second means of identification with your signature. Any second means of I.D. with a signature is acceptable; such as a department store card, library card, etc. However, it should not be the same as the credit identification. (For example if you are using American Express for the rental, a different means of identification with a signature must be shown.)

If you have a drivers license from out of the US, you must have a passport present with you in your name.

Southern California residents, picking up a car at any location are also required to bring with them at the time of car pick up , a utility bill from their currently home address with their name on it . Without this additional means of ID, the car will not be issued.

Pick up Policy LAX
Domestic rental reservations will be held 3 hours from the booked rental time before the car is released. International reservations will be held for 4 hours from the booked rental time.

The LAX office is open Mon-Fri 6a-11pm, sat/sun 8a-9pm. If you do not arrive by your scheduled pick up time, your reservation will be cancelled.

Email address
Occasionally Midway Car Rental may use your email address to send you additional information regarding Midway Car Rental, and specials that we are having.
We will not let any other marketing company have your email address. If you wish to decline any offers from us, and not be included in our specials and promotions emails, please email us at and we will have your name removed immediately.

Driver's License
All drivers must have a valid driver's license in their possession to rent a vehicle. No copies or faxed licenses will be accepted at any time. The original license must be presented, and must be in the name of the driver.

The renter's driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.

If a drivers license is not from the United States, The renter must have a passport present in their name.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a valid driver's license. An IDP must always be presented in conjunction with the official drivers license of the issuing country.

Midway Car Rental will not rent to a holder of a license that restricts them to daytime driving only or to business driving only.

A learner's permit is not accepted. A valid temporary license is accepted.
Expired licenses will not be accepted.

Vehicles Leaving California
Midway vehicles are permitted to enter California and Nevada only. If your rental agreement states "unlimited" mileage, it is unlimited mileage in the State of CA and NV only .
There are some standard vehicles, if rented at the San Diego location with special coverage packages, that may be permitted to enter Mexico. Please call our office for details.

Acceptable Charge Cards
The charge card must be in the renters name. Check or Cash cards are not accepted as credit identification at the beginning of the rental. They can be used however at the end of the rental for payment of rental charges.Pre-paid credit cards or secured cards are not accepted at any time. Debit cards with Visa Logos may be accepted on short term- standard car rentals. Debit cards may not be used for all vehicle rentals. See your customer service agent for details
.A minimum of $350 must be available on a major credit card for a standard car rental of one day. This increases based on the length of the rental. See customer service agent for limits required on specialty vehicles. A minimum deposit of $500.00 must be available on a debit card, proof of residency, utility bill, and current driver's license must accompany it. See the manager regarding Debit use for
Luxury rentals. Acceptable credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Diners Club, Visa, Discover Card. Please feel free to contact your Midway Representative in advance to get an estimate of your credit card authorization.

No brand guarantees
Midway Car Rental does not guarantee specific brands or colors of vehicles at any time. If the vehicle that you reserved is not available, an alternate or upgraded vehicle may be assigned at management discretion.

Local Policies
One-way rentals are based on availability, must be returned in CA, and a one-way service fee applies. Check with the nearest Midway Car Rental reservation office for details.
Cars that receive unlimited mileage are approved for unlimited mileage in the state of CA and Nevada only .

No Show Policy/Cancellation policy
Reservations are valid and honored for up to three hours after the requested pick up time. However this must be during the hours of operation. If the vehicle is not picked up within three hours of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. We ask that you contact Midway Car Rental if you need to change the pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems.

For standard cars (fullsize cars and smaller ) you may cancel the same day with no penalty. For all SUVS and VANS, 24 hour cancelation is required by email or phone to avoid penalty fees. For all LUXURY and SPECIALTY reservations, 48 hours advance cancelation is required.

Collision Damage Waiver
In California, the renter is liable for all damage to the Midway Car Rental vehicle regardless of fault. The renter is also liable for loss of use of the vehicle (revenue lost while the car is being repaired).

Renters may purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which relieves them of all financial responsibility for loss or damage to the Midway Car Rental vehicle as long as they comply with the terms of the rental agreement. In California, CDW does not relieve the renter for theft resulting from failure to use ordinary care. Cost of CDW will vary by car, group and rate. Please check with the rental agent or nearest Midway Car Rental reservation center for details.

If you have rental car coverage through your personal insurance or charge card, CDW offers maximum protection while your personal insurance or charge card coverage may contain a deductible. If you have any questions, check with your insurance provider. Written proof of insurance is required at all of our locations.

Personal Accident Coverage
Personal Accident Coverage provides medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the Midway Car Rental vehicle.

The renter is covered 24 hours a day during the rental for the following: $1,500 medical coverage for injuries due to an accident, $250 for ambulance expenses.

Supplemental Liability Insurance
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) may be purchased at time of rental, and provides renter with supplemental insurance coverage from the California State Limits of $35,000 to $1 million.

Insurance and Optional Services
Public Liability and Property Damage: Midway Car Rental meets the financial responsibility laws of the State of California. In California, no liability coverage is provided to the renter/driver unless Renter's Liability Protection is purchased or renter provides proof of insurance as required by state law. Proof of liability coverage is required by state law.
Proof of coverage would be your insurance card, or policy page from your personal car insurance policy.

Renter's Liability Protection
Renters may purchase Renter's Liability Protection (RLP) at the time of rental.
Liability coverage is required in the state of CA. We suggest you provide written proof of coverage if you are supplying your own liability coverage. Liability coverage does not cover your rental car, it covers any damage that your vehicle would cause to any 3rd party property. Liability coverage provides third party liability protection for bodily injury ($15,000 per person, $30,000 per accident) and property damage ($5,000) to third parties, as mandated and at the limits required by California.

If you purchase the SLI/RLP protection package, it will provide third party liability protection for bodily injury and property damage in excess of any existing insurance, from the states minimum limits to one million dollars.


Renters in California who purchase RLP will receive California required liability coverage. Check with the rental agent or nearest Midway Car Rental reservation center for cost and availability of RLP.

Written proof of liability coverage is suggested at all of our offices if you will be declining our coverage.

WARNING TO RENTERS
WARNING TO RENTERS: Your personal automobile insurance carrier or insurance provided by your credit card company may provide some of the optional coverages listed above. Please check with your insurance carrier and/or your credit card company before you purchase to avoid duplicative coverage. Please be advised that your optional coverage may be void if the damage or loss results from an authorized driver's (A) intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct, (B) operation of the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, (C) towing or pushing anything, (D) operation of the vehicle on an unpaved road if the damage or loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions, (E) used for commercial hire, (F) used in connection with conduct that could be properly charged as a felony, (G) involved in a speed test or contest or in driver training activity, (H) operated by a person other than an authorized driver, (I) operated outside of the United States, (J) renter provided fraudulent information to the rental company, (K) carry hazardous material, or (L) provided false information and the rental company would not have rented the vehicle if it had instead received true information.

Rates and Currency
Rates are in U.S. dollars (USD). The rate of exchange at the end of the rental applies.
Taxes are additional. State tax is added to all rentals. The Burbank Airport. which does have additional airport fees. Please contact the office directly for San Diego fees.

Additional Drivers
At the time of rental an additional driver must be at least 21 years of age, present a valid drivers license, present a Midway Car Rental honored charge card, complete an additional driver form. For certain vehicles, 25 year old age restrictions might be in effect.

There is no charge for additional drivers for rentals beginning at this location. However, all additional drivers must have their own credit card, in their name, present with them at the time of the rental.
There is no charge for one added driver if over the age of 25.

Special Services
Child Safety Seats are available at this location with a minimum of 24-hour advance booking. Since availability at times is limited, please reserve child seats in advance.
Ski Racks are not available at this location. Snow Chains are not available at this location. Midway Car Rental vehicles are equipped with all weather tires

Contract Violations
Contract violations include, but are note limited to :
1. Driving the vehicle outside of CA or NV
2. Driving while intoxicated
3. Towing of any sort
4. Failure to return the rental vehicle by due date
5. Operation of the vehicle by someone who is not listed as an authorized driver on the contract
6. Failure to pay all charges listed on the contract at time of return

Drop off policy fees/After hours
If arrangements are made in advance, you may pick up your vehicle at one Midway location and return to another Midway location. The drop off fee begins at $30.00. Please contact a location manager for your exact fee. If you return your vehicle after hours to our San Diego location, additional fees may apply. Please contact the San Diego office directly for after hours return information and fees.

GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEMS
Many of our vehicles are not equipped with a GPS navigation system. However, GPS systems may be rented at the counter when you rent your vehicle. GPS systems may only be rented if you are renting a vehicle from us. For additional questions regarding GPS systems please contact the office directly.

AFTER HOURS
Please contact your Midway customer service representative for after hours return information -If you return your vehicle after hours to this location additional fees may be incurred.

AGE
You must be a minimum age of 21 to rent a standard car. Most premium and luxury vehicles require an age minimum of 25. For renters between the ages of 21 and 24 who are renting standard vehicles, there is an underage fee of $10.00 per day that will apply to your rental.Please call the office directly for specific information on age requirements.

Midway San Diego is open 7am-7:30pm every day

CANCELLATION
Specialty vehicle reservations must be cancelled 48 hours in advance.

EQUIPMENT
Midway Car Rental does not guarantee specific brands or colors at any time. If the vehicle you reserved is not available an alternate vehicle may be substituted. Every category is booked or similar with no brand guarantee.

GAS
Midway Car Rental recommends that you refill the fuel tank of your rental vehicle to the same level it was when you picked up the car. If the fuel is at a lesser level, Midway Car Rental will charge a minimum of $9.50 USD per gallon to refill the missing fuel.

GEOGRAPHIC
Vehicles are permitted to travel in California and Nevada. Some cars may be permitted to travel to Mexico with advance approval and special insurance from the San Diego office. Please call the San Diego office location for specific details.

INSURANCE
You must have proof of liability insurance while operating a motor vehicle in the state of California. Midway Car Rental offers Collision Damage Waiver which is not insurance. It is an optional coverage available to reduce damage responsbility. The coverage is usually available for a cost per day.Renters Liability Protection begins at $14.95 USD per day. If you choose to use your personal policy you must present it at the time of the rental or you may purchase ours.

PASSPORT
If your drivers license was issued outside of the US, you must bring your passport with you when picking up the vehicle.

PAYMENT
The following major credit cards are accepted: American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. You are required to hav a major credit card in your name with you at the time of the rental. A minimum of $500 USD is required on your credit card for standard cars and more for luxury or premium cars. Please ask prior to arrival. You also must provide a copy of a utility bill in your name at the time that you pick up the car if you are a Los Angeles resident. Prepaid credit cards, cash deposits and personal checks are not accepted. Deposits will be taken on all debit cars. Call store for details.

RULES
You must pick up the vehicle during business hours. Form of payment must be in the renters name and valid and present at the time of rental. Midway does not guarantee brands at any time. All cars are booked or similar and in category .

SHUTTLE
Thank you for booking with Midway Car Rental. Free shuttle service is provided to and from San Diego Airport during office hours.Please wait in the Skywalk Shuttle area at San Diego Airport and call our office at .Look for the white Midway Shuttle van with the Midway logo. This shuttle will take you directly to our office.The San Diego office is approximately 5 minutes from the airport - 1.75 miles.
