DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
America Car Rental requires the following documentation to offer the service:
• Minimum age is 20 years old to 85 years old.
• Credit card (The name on the credit card must match the name of the designated
driver).
• Identification (Passport with photo in the case of foreign clients).
• Valid driver's license or international driver's license.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
The accepted methods of payment for rental payments are credit and debit cards (VISA,
MasterCard, and American Express).
INSURANCE INFORMATION
TPL (Third Party Liability)
Third Party Liability Protection covers the customer in case of damage to third parties and
third party property.
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
This coverage is optional and releases the client from the responsibility of having to pay
for damages caused to the rented vehicle with a deductible depending on the category,
however, it is mandatory when the client does not have his own coverage. $2000 per day.
***For the insurance to be taken into account it must be valid in Canada.
TGI (Insurance for wheels and glass)
Eliminates all liability for glass and tires of the rented vehicle. See terms and conditions.
PAI (Personal medical expense)
Covers medical expenses of the driver and authorized occupants of the rented vehicle in
case of an accident.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Only credit cards (America Express, Visa and Master Card) are accepted as forms of
payment for the security deposit.
Only those from Mexico, Brazil, China and Japan can pay by debit card or cash.
RESERVATION POLICY
We hold a reservation for 2 hours and, if you do not show up within that time, a vehicle
will be provided only if there is availability. In case of flight delay or other reason, if the
client informs us in advance and we know with certainty that he/she will pick up the
vehicle, we will keep it reserved.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The customer may cancel his/her reservation 24 hours prior to pick-up time at no cost. If
the customer made their reservation through a third party, they must contact the website
where they made their reservation directly.
REFUND POLICIES
No refunds will be given for rentals that are not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
The cost per additional driver is CAD 10 per day. Must have a valid international driver's
license or permit, minimum age of 21 years old and maximum age of 75 years old.
RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
For the return of the vehicle, you must deliver it at the agreed time at the established
place. You will only be granted 30 minutes of extra time free of charge. After the
established time, you must leave the keys in the key box.
RETURN THE VEHICLE IN ANOTHER STATE.
At the end of the rental you may choose to drop off the vehicle at the same location
where the rental was made or you may drop it off at the following permitted locations;
Calgary Airport (Available with advance reservation at least 3 days in advance and
for an additional charge)
Abbotsford Airport
**Ask directly at the counter for the respective price.
MILEAGE POLICIES
Unlimited mileage only in BC, Alberta and Washington (Seattle), only for rentals of 7 days
or more, if unlimited mileage restrictions are not met, it will cost $100 to $500 USD.
FUEL POLICY
The vehicle is picked up with a full tank of gas and returned with a full tank of gas.
Otherwise, you will be charged for the missing fuel.
EXTRAS
Extras must be requested directly at the counter.
TOLLS AND FINES
Tolls and fines will be charged to the customer if necessary.
GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS
Border crossing to the United States is allowed (Vehicles can only go to BC, ALBERTANA in
Canada, Washington seattle, Origon only in USA).
ROAD ASSISTANCE
Road assistance service is offered, CAD 5 per day.
