DRIVER REQUIREMENTS.
America Car Rental requires the following documentation to offer the service:
Must present at time of physical pick-up:
1. Identification document: an ID from your country of residence and passport, citizenship card
(CC) or foreigner's card (CE).
2. Driving licence: Original and valid driving licence (At least 12 months at the time of rental
regardless of whether it is a national or international license) (Must be in Roman alphabet).
3. Credit card: With available credit for the security deposit/deposit.
4. Method of payment for rental: Cash, debit card or credit card.
5. Age: At least 25 years old and not older than 70 years old. If you are between 21 and 24
years old, a young driver fee (USD 20 per day) will apply.
INSURANCE INFORMATION
Note: Depending on the rate booked, your reservation may or may not include the following
coverage:
SOAT insurance (Compulsory Motor Insurance) is insurance required by law in Colombia for all
motor vehicles travelling on national roads. Its main purpose is to cover bodily injury caused to
people in road traffic accidents, whether they are occupants of the hired vehicle, pedestrians or
other third parties involved.
CDW: Damage cover with excess; Collision Damage Waiver reduces the customer’s liability for
damage to the amount of the excess. CDW does not cover damage to tyres, underbody,
windscreen, locks, breakage or loss of keys or remote controls, upholstery, clutch, damage caused
by the use of incorrect fuel, costs such as towing, unused time or items inside the vehicle, such as
child seats, GPS devices or personal belongings.
TPL: Third-party liability cover for damage to property and/or personal injury or death of third
parties; Third-party liability cover for damage to property and/or personal injury or death of third
parties. Damage to third parties is covered in full by the insurer (up to approximately USD
500,000).
TP: Cover for loss or theft of the vehicle up to the amount of the excess; reduces the customer’s
financial liability for loss or theft of the vehicle to the amount of the excess.
RSN: Roadside assistance cover; this cover is optional and provides roadside assistance, but does
not cover the cause of the breakdown. The mobile workshop will provide technical and mechanical
assistance so that you can continue with your hire; this service will only be provided in major cities
and urban areas. If the problem cannot be resolved, a recovery service will be provided to
transport the vehicle to the nearest town for repair. The cover will only be valid if the terms of the Hire Agreement are met.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Only credit cards with available credit are accepted. The company secures the guarantee by
making a purchase, which involves debiting the customer’s credit card for the amount of the
security deposit; this sum will be debited from their account. This procedure is carried out to
ensure the vehicle is in good condition and to cover any traffic offences or fines.
Confort Rent a Car will require a security deposit of COP$ 1,800,000 (approx. USD$ 500.00) for
cars, COP$ 3,300,000 (approx. USD$ 870.00) for five-seater minivans and COP$ 4,300,000 (approx.
USD$ 1,140.00) for seven-seater minivans.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. For deposit purposes, we only
accept credit cards issued by official banks, Colombian credit cards provided by retail chains, or
Diners Club credit cards.
NOT ACCEPTED. Falabella CMR cards are subject to certain restrictions; please check with our
reservations department in advance.
This security deposit will be released in full within fifteen (15) working days of the end of the hire
period, provided no unexpected charges arise. Such charges may include, but are not limited to:
damage to the vehicle, traffic fines, returning the vehicle with less fuel than was provided, or the
need for cleaning. It is important to note that the amount of the security deposit does not include
the cost of the vehicle hire.
CANCELLATION POLICY
You may cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance. If the cancellation occurs less than 24
hours before the time of delivery of the vehicle, you will be charged a penalty equivalent to fifty
percent (50%) of the value of one day's rental contracted.
If you do not show up (no show) after the rental start time, there will be no refund of any
payments made. The rental office reserves the right to cancel the reservation for the following
reasons:
• Failure to make the booking confirmation payment or doing so outside the stipulated
period (minimum 24 hours before the rental).
• Absence of the main driver at the time and date established in the reservation.
• Not having the required documentation, or presenting inconsistencies or deterioration in
the same.
• The holder of the credit card that supports the guarantee quota does not show up.
• Failure to comply with the requirements demanded by Confort Rent a Car.
• Voluntary Withdrawal.
IMPORTANT: Confort Rent a Car reserves the right to cancel the reservation of the vehicle to any
person who does not comply with the requirements or the terms and conditions demanded.
RESERVATION POLICY
Confort Rent a Car will hold your booking for up to one hour after the scheduled collection time.
If you contact us or arrive later to access the service, a rescheduling will be considered, subject to the availability of the reserved vehicle and the opening hours at the chosen location. If you do not collect the vehicle on the agreed date and time, or do not notify us of the cancellation before the start of the hire period, this will be considered a NO-SHOW. This condition will also apply if you are unable to collect the vehicle due to a lack of documentation, an invalid credit card or insufficient funds for the deposit. Please note that fees and charges may apply in these cases.
MILEAGE
The mileage included varies according to the duration of the rental:
Mileage limit: For 1 and 2 days rental:250 km per day and for excess km a charge will be applied
and payable directly at the rental counter.
Additional kilometres will have an extra cost which varies according to the type of vehicle.
Additional km cost
• 0.36 USD for cars
• 0.60 USD for vans.
Unlimited mileage: For 3 days to 29 days rental.
Monthly rentals: Limited to 3,000 kilometres.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS.
Additional drivers must be between the ages of 21 and 70. The cost is $4.00 USD per day, plus tax,
per driver. If you are between the ages of 21 and 24, a young driver fee (USD $20 per day) will
apply

It is important to note the following:

• Fuel transfer: Origin - Destination - Origin
• Transfers to the airports of Barranquilla, Bucaramanga and Cali.
The above rates do not include the extension of vehicle restrictions that exist in each city, will be
the responsibility of the lessor or the client.
RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
If you return the car after 1 hour of drop-off, the daily rental rate will be applied in full.
If you wish to drop off the car at a time other than regular business hours, a charge of 17 USD
will be applied (Subject to staff availability).
In the event that the vehicle returns dusty (interior and/or exterior) or lightly soiled, the Basic
Wash will be charged. In case the vehicle returns with mud (inside and/or outside) or excessive
dirt, the extra wash will be charged. If the upholstery, bearings, roof and/or floor mats are
affected by spillage of liquids, vomit, mud, pet hair or odours, or strong odours of any kind, you
will be charged for the extra wash plus deodorisation.
Important: Smoking is NOT allowed inside the vehicle, nor is it allowed to transport pets without
the proper protection of the cushioning. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the cost of
the extra washing plus deodorisation.

FUEL POLICY.
Return with the same amount granted to avoid refuelling charges. If fuel is missing on return, you
will pay according to the current internal rates at the rental counter. Unused fuel is nonrefundable.
EXTRAS
Baby seat: Baby seat is available on request. It is necessary to inform the age of the baby or child
(Max 10 days rental).
ROAD ASSISTANCE
In Colombia, there is a national decree known as "pico y placa" which restricts the movement of
cars in major cities on certain days, at specific times depending on the number plate. It is your
responsibility to check, familiarise yourself with and comply with this regulation.
At Confort Rent a Car, we ensure that the vehicle handed over to the customer on the day of
collection is not subject to any "pico y placa" restrictions. However, if during the rental period the vehicle is subject to additional days of restriction, these must be borne by the customer.
GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS.
Cross-border travel is not allowed. Vehicles may only travel within the national territory of
Colombia, making exclusive use of paved roads.
ACCIDENTS & INCIDENTS.
If the vehicle you are driving triggers an alarm or a warning light (emergency light) on the
dashboard relating to the cooling and/or lubrication systems, you must stop the vehicle and switch
off the engine immediately. Then, call the rental office on the 24-hour helpline +57 3164470347
for instructions. Depending on the situation, the customer must contact the helpline immediately,
take photographs of the incident, and the helpline will provide guidance on the steps to follow
during the call.
Pick up Instructions
An agent will be waiting for you for one hour at arrival gate No. 2 and will be holding a sign with your name and our logo.
