DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
America Car Rental requires the following documentation to provide the service:
• Minimum Age is 21 years old to 90 years old, this applies to renter and additional drivers
(Additional charges will apply for drivers under 26 years old).
• Must present a valid driving licence.
• Official ID
**No cash or checks accepted. The only method of payment would be credit or debit card
(American Express, DiscoveryCard, MasterCard, VISA).
METHODS OF PAYMENT:
• We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple pay,
• We do not accept cash or cheques.
• The only method of payment is by credit or debit card.
• Our MLI and CDW coverage with a $500.00 deductible is mandatory.
• A $300.00 deposit plus prepayment of rental fee is required.
INSURANCE INFORMATION
Proof of cover is mandatory at the time of rental if our cover is declined. If proof of coverage is
not presented at the time of rental, our CDW and MLI coverages will be mandatory.
CDW: $19.95 per day with $500.00 deductible, or $29.95 per day with $0.00 deductible.
MLI: $15.00 per day.
1. CDW: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible in the event of any accident.
This protection exempts the renter from any financial responsibility, with a deductible that varies
according to the category of the vehicle. This coverage excludes cases of negligence, invalid rental
contracts and force majeure events. A police report is required immediately, as well as notification
of the incident to the nearest office within 12 hours of its occurrence, in order to maintain the
client's liability.
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR.
2. CDW 2: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible in case of any accident.
This protection exempts the renter from any financial responsibility, with a deductible that varies
according to the category of the vehicle. This coverage excludes cases of negligence, invalid rental
contracts and force majeure events. An immediate police report is required, as well as notification
of the incident to the nearest office within 12 hours of its occurrence, in order to maintain the
client's liability.
Classes: IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
3. LDW: Collision Damage Waiver with a $0.00 deductible in case of any accident.
This option covers the rented vehicle 100% with a financial liability of $0, including tyres, glass and
car park damage, which is where many accidents usually occur.
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR.
4. LDW 2: Collision Damage Waiver with a $0.00 deductible in case of any accident.
This option covers the rented vehicle 100% with a financial responsibility of $0, including tyres,
glass and car park damage, which is where many accidents usually occur.
Classes: IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
5. MLI: Liability or Public Liability Insurance.
Covers damages caused to third parties, referring to another vehicle, person, or property.
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR.
6. MLI +: Public Liability Insurance or Public Liability PLUS.
Covers damages caused to third parties, referring to another vehicle, person, or property.
Classes: IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
7. TP1: Premium Protection 1.
Includes Collision Damage Waiver with $0.00 deductible in case of any accident, liability insurance,
plus protection of personal effects.
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR.
8. TP2: Premium Protection 2.
Includes Collision Damage Waiver with $0.00 deductible in case of any accident, liability insurance,
plus protection of personal effects.
Classes: IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
9. SP1: Standard Protection 1.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible in case of any accident, plus liability insurance.
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR.
10. SP2: Standard Protection 2
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible in case of any accident, plus liability insurance.
Classes: IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Security deposit USD 500
Classes: ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CFAR, IFAR, FFAR, MVAR.
The deposit amount changes if the client purchases CDW insurance, the new amount is USD 200,
credit card insurance is accepted for this must provide evidence of coverage, the client must ensure
that the card has coverage for rental cars in Puerto Rico.
**We do not accept prepaid credit cards, cash or checks.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Customers must make the cancellation through the same website or platform through which they
made the booking. Cancellations made directly at the venue will incur a penalty fee. If cancellation
is made at the location desk, a $50.00 fee per cancelled booking will apply. To avoid additional
charges, it is recommended that any amendments or cancellations be handled through the original
booking channel.
RESERVATION POLICY.
We will honour all reservations up to two hours after the scheduled pick-up time. High Season:
Due to high demand during high season, a strict one (1) hour grace period will be applied to the
arrival of reservations. A $50.00 fee will be charged for all no-show reservations.
REFUND POLICY.
No refunds will be granted for early returns.
MILEAGE
Unlimited mileage
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS.
Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the main hirer. Additional drivers: $9.99
USD per day.
RETURN OF THE VEHICLE.
No refunds will be made for early returns.
You have one hour to return the vehicle if it is not returned at the requested time, you will be
charged for the additional day, which consists of a fee + additional services + taxes.
Customers who need to return the vehicle outside normal business hours have two options:
• You can leave the vehicle in the car park and place the keys inside the glove box. You can
then take an Uber to the airport (The customer is responsible for the cost of the Uber
ride).
• The second alternative would be to leave the vehicle at the airport, on the M level; place
the parking ticket and keys inside the glove box. (A $50 fee will be charged for this option.)
RETURN OF THE VEHICLE IN ANOTHER STATE.
It is not allowed to
FUEL POLICY.
The vehicle is delivered with a full tank of fuel and must be returned in the same condition. If the
vehicle is returned with less fuel than was provided, a penalty will be charged depending on the
category of the car. The fixed charge is $8.00 per gallon.
EXTRAS
Items such as child seats can be purchased at the time of pick-up, ask at the counter what extras
are available.
1. This service is not automatically included. Customers must purchase it separately.
• The cost of roadside assistance service is $2.99 per day.
• This coverage includes services such as towing, battery problems, lost keys, among other
common incidents.
2. Authorization Required: You must have an active subscription to use the service. It is
recommended that you have proof of contract on hand.

GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS.
Cross-border rentals are not allowed. In case of infringement of cross-border and territorial
restrictions, all protections lose their validity.
TOLLS AND FINES
Our optional toll service offers unlimited use of all automated toll lanes within Puerto Rico for a
daily fee.
Fines - In exchange for the company renting the vehicle to you, you will be required to pay the
company all costs resulting from parking and traffic citations while the vehicle is rented and
entrusted to you, plus an administrative fee of $50.00 per citation.
ACCIDENTS & INCIDENTS
In the event of an accident, the customer must notify the police and the company within 12 hours.
You must cooperate with any investigation related to the accident and must provide the company
with any documents related to the accident, including an official complaint. You must not assist
any third party in making a claim against the company.
Pick up Instructions
Our complementary shuttle service is available for customers arriving at the airport. It runs between columns 1 and 2 every 15 minutes, during our operational hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Important: Due to possible changes caused by construction work at the airport, pick-up instructions may vary throughout the year. For this reason, we encourage all customers to call our offices upon arrival at the airport for updated and accurate directions.
