10 Ways to Make Your Car Rental More Festive

Christmas Ca RentalsWhen it comes to holiday travel, no one can top Santa’s spacious sleigh. You’ve got to hand it to the big guy – he certainly knows how to arrive in style! If you’re looking to infuse your holiday travels with a little cheer, have no fear! The elves here at Car Rental Express have compiled a list of fun, festive upgrades that would make Rudolph himself jealous. So what are you waiting for? Hold on to your mittens – it’s time to Christmas-ize your ride!

1. Reindeer Car Kit

On Dasher, on Dancer, on… Dodger and Mustang? If you’re looking to add a festive touch to your Christmas car rental, consider picking up an inexpensive reindeer car kit from your local department store. This simple three-piece kit puts you behind the wheel of your very own mechanical sleigh, thanks to two non-scratch, plush-covered antlers and a large plush red nose. Simply affix to your car rental’s front windows and bumper and you’re ready to deliver gifts all over town!

2. Crank Up the Holiday Tunes

Holiday traffic got you feeling down? Sounds like you could use some holiday music! The right holiday song can put anybody in a better mood and soothe emotional turmoil. Holiday music can help reduce stress, and in some cases, can even make you feel like a kid again! ‘Tis the season to fa la la la lala after all! Remember to pack a few holiday CD’s into your travel bag, or ask a rental attendant at the desk to recommend a radio station that includes holiday tunes in their rotation.

3. Rent a Red Car

After all, red and green are the official colors of Christmas. Contact your car rental company ahead of time to specially request a festive colored rental.

4. Install a Holiday Air Freshener

Nothing says Christmas quite like the fresh smell of pine. But before you try and install a Christmas tree in your passenger seat, we recommend opting for a pine-scented air freshener first. While slightly less authentic, an air freshener will be far less obtrusive (no one likes sitting on a seat full of picky pine needles!).

5. Light Up Your Ride

Spread some holiday cheer with Christmas bulb magnet decorations that you can stick to the side of your car rental. These multi-colored magnets are shaped just like the Christmas lights you hang on your home, except instead of electricity, these decorations feature a reflective coating.

6. Hang an Ornament From Your Review Mirror

If you’re far from home this holiday season, consider bringing your favorite family ornament along for the ride in your car rental. Of course, remember to keep safety in mind. If the ornament is large and will obstruct your view, consider keeping in safely tucked in a cup holder.

7. All Wrapped Up

A brightly colored bow on your dashboard is often enough to make you smile, even on a chilly winter’s morning.

8. Keep Festive Snacks on Hand

From candy canes to truffles, it’s tough to say no to delicious holiday treats. We recommend keeping a few of your favorites in the glove box – you never know when you’ll need a little pick-me-up after a long day of traveling.

9. Snowy Precautions

A windshield scrapper may not seem like the most festive of items, but believe me, you’re going to want to make sure you have one in your rental! These nifty little tools can be a lifesaver, especially after an unexpected snowstorm.

10. Keep Your Christmas Cards Close at Hand

The holidays are meant to be spent with friends and family. If you don’t think you’ll make it home for the holidays, consider bringing the holidays with you. Keep your Christmas cards close at hand so you can read them whenever you’re stuck in traffic or before you embark on a long drive.
