Driving Regulations In New Jersey

Seat Belt Regulations
In New Jersey, all front seat passengers must wear a seat belt while the vehicle is in operation, the driver is responsible for those under 18, while those 18 and over are responsible for themselves. All children under seven years old and less than 80 pounds must be seated in the rear seat. This is enforced with a $25 fine for those first time offenders.

Legal Driving Limit

For those over 21, a first time offender could face such consequences as losing their license for 6 months to a year, various fines and fees, imprisonment for up to a month and/or detainment in an Intoxicated Driver Resource Centre.
