Hollywood is located in Broward County on the Atlantic Ocean just north of Miami between Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Driving Regulations In Florida

Visitors And Driver License Requirements
The operator of a vehicle must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle registration while driving. In Florida, automobile insurance is mandatory. Proof of insurance, registration and a driver's license are requested from drivers anytime a police officer or state trooper performs a routine traffic stop.

Seat Belt And Child Safety Seat Usage
All drivers and passengers must use seat belts in a moving vehicle. Florida law requires all children under the age of 6 years old to ride in a federally approved child safety seat. The cost to a violator of the child restraint law is $60 and three points on the driver's license. Also, no person responsible for a child younger than 6 years of age shall leave such child unattended or unsupervised in a motor vehicle for a period in excess of 15 minutes. No person shall leave a child unattended for any period of time if the motor of the vehicle is running or if the health of the child is in danger.

Speed Limits In Florida
Speeding fines are doubled in construction and school zones. Failure to sign a traffic citation is a second degree misdemeanor.

Drinking And Driving Laws In Florida
Please note that open containers of alcohol are forbidden in motor vehicles. The penalties for DUI are severe in Florida. The legal blood alcohol limit in Florida is 0.08. First convictions can include fines, community service, probabtion, imprisonment, license revocation, DUI school. 4 or more convictions may result in permanent license revocation.

Littering in Florida
Drivers are responsible for any littering from their vehicles. Use ash trays for cigarettes and litter bags for trash while riding in motor vehicles. Empty ash trays and litter bags only into trash cans. Being caught may result in fines and/or jail time. The court may also require you to pick up litter along roadways.

Parking in Hollywood
Parking on the beach averages at about $1.00 per hour in both metered spots and parking lots. Downtown, the average cost is about $.50 per hour also in both metered and parking lots. Be careful though, as some spots are only a 30 minute maximum.
