San Rafael is a small residential community located on San Rafael Bay. The city is accessible from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge. The city is home to 56,063 people and was named after the patron saint of health.
There was a mission in 1817 that was founded in San Rafael to serve as a health retreat for both clergy and colonists. This area was also the location of several movie sets, of which include the 1988 "Tucker: The Man and His Dream", the 2001 "Sweet November", and the 1973 movie "American Graffiti".
