Houston is tops among the cultural movements and achievements in the state of Texas. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts

The center is the most prominent venue for theater and musicals in the theater district and has two distinct venues within it. While larger theater activities are performed in the massive Sarofim Hall which accommodates 2,650 people, other smaller performances and musical concerts can be enjoyed at the 500 seat capacity, Zilkha Hall. The touring Broadways and other domestic companies, utilize the highly customized sound effects and the beautiful ambience that includes optical stars on the ceiling. Zilkha is popular with the growing musical troupes such as Psophonia Dance Company and Ars Lyrica Houston for their seasonal performances.

The Verizon Wireless Theater

It is a private indoor theater at 520 Texas Ave. in downtown Houston and within the Bayou Place entertainment complex. Many plays, comedy acts and musical performances adorn the intimate stage, entertaining many Houston visitors. The place is apt for a night out and includes restaurants and other amenities within the complex. Alley Theater

Drive your Houston rental car to 615 Texas Avenue, to reach this theater. Alley Theater is a landmark theater in the performing arts scene in Houston. The company has two performance venues within its building, the Hubbard and Neuhaus. The former has an 824 seating capacity and the latter has a 310 seating capacity that accommodates smaller musical plays and other live performances. The castle-like theater is located in downtown Houston along with other major city cultural attractions.

The Jesse H. Jones Hall for the Performing Arts

One of America's top orchestras, the Houston Symphony Orchestra uses the Jones as its home and features excellent live performances. The venue with good seating capacity and acoustic grandeur is a much touted place for symphonies and concerts. The Houston Society for the Performing Arts also uses the stage for its rehearsals and performances.
