Basic Rental Requirements
To rent a vehicle from Charlie Car Rental customers must meet the following requirements:
Possess a valid driver\'s license to operate a motor vehicle. The license must have been issued in:
a) the United States
b) Canada
c) Internationally
(must be in English or Spanish and accompanied by the local or home license.)
Be 21 years of age or older
(Note: All drivers under the age of 25 are subject to a daily under25 fee.) Charlie Car Rental\'s Under Age Fee is $10 per day
Possess a major credit card, VISA, MASTER CARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS AND DISCOVER. See CHECK CARD RENTAL REQUIREMENTS.
Payment Method Details and Requirements
Charlie Car Rental accepts the following methods of payment: Cash, Debit Card, Traveler's Cheques, Company Account, VISA Check, VISA, Master Card, AMEX, Discover and Carte Blanche.
We charged up front. When credit card (i.e., VISA, Master Card, AMEX & Discover) is used for the rental, an extra authorization is obtained.
When a MC/Visa Check Card is use for the rental, our $19.95 LDW with $500 deductible is mandatory,unless customer show proof of car insurance letter. Additionally, a deposit of $250.00 is obtained for any rental of economy, compact and midsizes vehicles. No Convertibles, SUVs, mini-vans, and 15 passenger vans are available with any Visa or Master Card debit. Must be 25 years for Visa/MC check approvalunder 25 needs manager approval.
When using any mayor regular credit card if you decline the (LDW no deductible) an extra deposit of about $250.00 is obtained. If costumer accept the LDW then a basic authorization of $100 is obtained.
Check Cards Policies
Renter must be 25 years old for check visa or check MC procedure. Manager authorization is require for any under 25 age with check/debit visa/MC
LDW is mandatory with 500.00 deductible when you use any VISA/MC with debit/check logo. Customer has the option to decline this protection only if brings proof or a letter from your car insurance Co, extending the coverage to our vehicles.
LDW rate is $19.95 per day with $500.00 deductible. A $250.00 will be hold on the Visa/MC debit
.All payment are made at the time of rental.
The hold on your debit/check card will be release from your bank few day after returned. Call you bank for more information on how long they keep the hold on your check visa/mc card.
The vehicles elegible for any check/debit Visa/MC are from economy thru Intermedia size. Any other car size needs manager aproval.
ELIGIBLE DEBIT CARDS MUST HAVE THE VISA/MASTERCARD LOGO.
STORE BOUGHT OR PRE-PAID CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE TO QUALIFY FOR A VEHICLE RENTAL. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE DEPOSIT TAKEN FOR 14 DAYS OR LONGER UNTIL YOUR BANK RELEASES THE FUNDS. CHARLIE CAR RENTAL WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RETURNED CHECKS , INSUFFICIENT FUND CHARGES OR BANK FEES RELATED TO YOUR BANKS PROCESS.
Rental Rates
Charlie Car Rental offers daily, weekly, monthly, and special discount rates. All rentals include Free Unlimited Mileage.
DAILY RATES
A one day minimum charge is incurred on all rentals. Each 24 hours, or any part of 24 hours is considered a day. After a 24-hour period, an extra hours charge will apply until the hourly charge exceeds the daily rate or extra day charge. When the hourly charge exceeds the daily or extra day charge, the daily or extra day charge will be applied. Hourly charges will appear on the rental agreeement as "Hourly."
WEEKLY RATES
A weekly rate applies to vehicles rented for more than 5 (Five) days. If the rental is based on a weekly rate, the renter will be charged a minimum of one week's rental, plus taxes, and associated fees. This weekly rate will apply even if the vehicle is returned in less than 7 (seven) days. After the first week, the weekly rate will be charged when the daily rate exceeds the weekly rate for the reserved time. When the vehicle is returned after the due date and time, the extra day rate will be applied.
MONTHLY RATES is base on 30 days deals. Monthly Rate is subject to a higher daily or weekly rate if returned before the month is due.
LONG TERM RENTALS
Is base on a 6 month minimun deal. Email us for any long term rate.

There is an inclusive 10% tax that apply to all rental transaction. That tax recovery fee include, Airport,Ports, Access fee charge and reservation from our tollfree system, a hotels partners, travel agent, internet service and tours operators.
Protection Option LDW (Loss Damage Waiver)
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)or(LDW) Loss Damage Waiver (LDWC) is not an insurance, but is a waiver. It gives the renter the opportunity to protect himself/herself against financial loss in the event the rental car is involved in an accident. When accepted by the renter, Charlie Car Rental waives its right to collect for the damage to the rented vehicle.This LDW or CDW apply only to regular credit card holder. For any check visa/MC must read Check Card Policies.
While the rented vehicle is in the possession of the renter, the renter has primary responsibility for claims made against Charlie Car Rental. Renter is financially responsible for the full value of the rented vehicle, any and all property damage, third party claims, or any other financial damage that occurs during the rental period. If renter has current United States-issued insurance that covers damage, proof of insurance must be submitted. Charlie Car Rental will always try to collect any debt from the Renter who is full responsible for any financial damages or loss to our property. insurance.
LDW Rate
LDW basic rate is $19.99 with no deductible per day for any economy,compact,midsize,fullsize and minivan.
LDW for Special Car is $19.99 per day w/ $500.00 deductible for any Convertible Car, SUV, Premium, Special or Luxury Cars.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident & Personal Property Coverage is an insurance that provides Accidental Death and Accident Medical expense benefit for the renter and his/her passenger(s). Coverage is provided for the renter during the coverage period as indicated on the rental agreement. Coverage is provided for the "passenger(s)" while within the enclosed portion of the rental vehicle only.
Personal Accident Coverage does not cover all situations that may give rise to death and/or medical expenses. Certain exclusions apply to this coverage.
Personal Property Coverage protects against damage to personal effects owned by the renter, as well as any immediate family members of the renter who permanently reside in the renter's household and are traveling with the renter.

The rate for this option is $3.00 a day for Personal Accident on any 4 doors sedan from compact to fullsizes. All minivan pay $6.00 per day on Personal Accident Coverage.
All Personal Effect Coverage rate is $1.95 per day for any car you rent.
International Drivers
All International Drivers are welcome. Shown a Valid Driver Licence. Our main language is Spanish and English. All other language must present a International Driver Licence.
Child Safety Seats
Infant/Child safety seats are available for rental at a rate of $4.95/day. Baby and child safety seats are required for children under four years of age. If the seat is not returned in the same condition as noted upon rental, a cleaning fee will be assessed, or a charge will be applied if the seat is damaged and requires repair or replacement.

Under 25 minimun age 21 can rent only up to 4 doors intermedia. With CREDIT CARD.
Additional Drivers
1 additional drivers permitted an additional chargeof $ 7.00 applies per day(per additional driver)
Minimum Age for Additional Drivers: 25
Marriage couple do not pay additional driver fee.
Co-worker with corporate account with us are also exempt of paying the addiotanl drivers fee.
Driving Area
Renters are authorized to drive the rented vehicle anywhere within the Island. Culebra and Vieques is not permitted.
Deposit Requirements
Cash deposits are not accepted.

One-Way Rentals
Insurance Policies and Surcharges
Insurance its optional with regular credit card. Extra deposit will be hold on the credit card if any of ours LDW are decline. $19.95 LDW with $500 deductible is mandatory with any Visa or Master Card Check. Must be 25 years old for any Visa/MC check card Approval. This is a new product and good option for customer that have they own insurance. This Option will pay up to $500.00 for your deductible in our estimate bill in case of any loss as a result of collision, vandalism or if the cars if stolen. Loss Damage Waiver This protection plan give you the benefits of no financial responsability to our properties if there is a collision, vandalism or the car is stolen.
LDW-500 Deductible Same as CDW or LDW but with a $500.00 deductible
Partial Damage Waiver This protection is ideal for those who use their own policy. With this protection product Charlie Car Rental pay up to $500.00 deductible damage to the estimate charge damage of our vehicle.
Suplemental Liability Increase your liability up to one million dollar. This protection option is good for those that had platinum or gold cards.
Personal Protection Plan This plan convers you and the passenger in our vehicle and your personal belongins.
Loss Damage Waiver For Check Cards & Under 25 This is the only waiver available for Visa/Master check card holder. Must be 25 years old and there is a $500.00 deductible
Loss Damage Waiver-S1 This is protection plan is with no financial responsability to our property. Minimun age 25 years old with regular credit card.
Loss Damage Waiver-S2 This is the basic protection waiver for any of our SUV, Convertible, Premium and luxury or specialty cars
Additional Driver Must be 25 age for additional driver. No additional drivers under 25 year age is allow. Addiotional or authorize driver. (this charge will not apply for marriage couples or family members like brother and sister or parents and their children over 25 years old)Not Additional Drivers are allow for premium cars exept husband and wife.
Under 25 Surchage Child Seat This is the rate cost for our baby or child seat. Charge is always subjet to availability at the time of rental.
