Payless Car Rental Policies & Insurance

Additional Drivers must meet the minimum age requirements, present a valid driver's license and credit card. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply to the additional driver.

Additional driver surcharge is $ 2.00 per day.

After hours returns are not permitted.

Renter must be 25 years of age with a valid drivers license and major credit card in his/her own name.

Collision Damage Waiver/Responsibility for Vehicle Damage:

If you do not purchase Collision Damage Waiver, you are responsible for all damage to the rented vehicle.

If you purchase Collision Damage Waiver, we will waive all, or a portion of, our right to collect from you for damage to the rented vehicle caused by collision or upset. The amount of your responsibility varies according to the type of vehicle you rent. We will not waive our right to collect for comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. In addition there are other exclusions from Collision Damage Waiver. Please read the back of the Payless Rental Agreement for a complete list of exclusions.

CDW Costs for All Cars:
$10.95 per day - with $1,500 USD deductible
$17.95 per day - with Zero deductible and $300.00 deductible for Jeeps, minivan

Debit Cards are are accepted only if you purchase our collision damage waiver (CDW) . The estimated amount of the rental plus $300.00 will be authorized against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned checks or insufficient fund charges related to this process.

From the aiport take las americas ave. north, toward the city of Santo Domingo, merge onto the 27 de febrero ave. to maximo gomez, make a left on George washington,ave. When you reach the malecon make another left. Continue straight ahead untill you see payless sign.

All vehicles are rented with a full tank of gasoline and must be returned full.

Use of the vehicle is restricted to the Dominican Republic.

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

It is the policy of Payless to have the confirmed vehicle available during normal business hours for the calendar day of the scheduled arrival.

Liability Insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to third persons or their property. Liability insurance does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. State and Country laws determine whether your personal auto liability insurance or our liability insurance will pay for injuries you cause to others while driving our vehicle.

IF AT THE TIME OF RENTAL THE CUSTOMER CANNOT PRESENT PROOF OF COVERAGEFOR DOMINICAN LIABILITY INSURANCE HE/SHE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE LIABILITY AS A CONDITION OF RENTAL. INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS SHOULD BE PREPAREDTO PRESENT VALID PROOF OF CONFORMING COVERAGE INCLUDING A DESCRIPTION OF COVERAGE OF THE LIABILITY LIMITS.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) You can purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) at $8.95 per rental day. If you do, your liability coverage increases to as much as $1million combined single limit for each accident. This coverage greatly expands your liability protection, perhaps even beyond your own personal auto policy. Restrictions apply, ask for a copy of an SLI brochure at the rental counter.

All drivers must meet the renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid drivers license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. See also age, drivers license, driving records, and credit cards.

Local Renters must meet our minimum age requirements; present a valid photo driver's license and credit card in his/her own name and proof of transferable liability insurance.
In addition local renter must has local ID.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES:
- Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.
- Payless requires written proof in English of liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number.

No shuttle service provided.
