Payless Car Rental Policies & Insurance

Additional drivers are allowed at most locations and there may be an additional fee if state law permits. They must meet the minimum age requirements, present a valid photo drivers license and credit card in his/her own name. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply.

Additional driver surcharge $6.95 per day.
Exemption/no charge: Spouse

After hour returns are not permitted.

Renter must be 25 years of age with a valid photo driver's license and major credit card in his/her own name.
Ages 21-24 add $9.95 per day surcharge.Underage surcharge will not appear in total pricing.
Ages 21-24 may rent economy and compact vehicles only.

CDW/LDW cost:

$14.95 per day with a $500 deductible for Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, and Full Size vehicles.
$14.95 per day, with a $700 deductible for Minivans and Specialty vehicles.

$18.95 per day with a $250 deductible for Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, and Full Size vehicles.
$18.95 per day with a $350 deductible for Minivans and Specialty vehicles.

CDW/LDW is not available for Convertible vehicles.

If you do not purchase Collision Damage Waiver, you are responsible for all damage to the rental vehicle. If you purchase and pay for Collision Damage Waiver, we will waive all, or a portion of, our right to collect from you for damage to the rented vehicle caused by collision or upset. The amount of your responsibility may vary according to the type of vehicle you rent.

Even if you purchase Collision Damage Waiver we will not waive our right to collect for comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. In addition there are other exclusions from Collision Damage Waiver, such as causing damage to the rented vehicle while intoxicated, racing or by your willful or intentional actions. Please read paragraph 5 of the Rental Agreement for a complete list of exclusions.

CDW is optional only when presenting a major credit card that extends rental car CDW protection to Puerto Rico or if the renter provides written proof of auto liability and physical damage insurance coverage extended to Puerto Rico. All credit card coverage and insurances are subject to verification and acceptance at rental counter. If neither stipulation is met, and optional coverage is not purchased, we can elect not to rent to you

The estimated amount of the rental plus an additional amount of $500.00 or $800.00 (depending on car type) will be assessed against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned check(s) or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process

From the East Coast: Take road #3 West to road #26 West (Baldority de Castro) toward the Airport. Follow the signs to the eixt for Ave. Los Angeles, which will be on your left, go under the overpass and on the second traffic light make a "U" turn to Carolina (you will be on #26 East). Take the first exit on this road, which is Marginal los Angeles. We are located on your right hand side.

Coming from the West Coast: Take road #26 East (Baldority de Castro Ave), go passed the airport exit, and continue to Carolina. After the overpass, keep right and take the second exit to the right, which will be Marginal Los Angeles. We are located straight ahead on Marginal Los Angeles, on the right.

All vehicles are rented with a full tank.

OPTION 1 BUY A TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental, bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level. Credit will not be issued for unused fuel.

OPTION 2 WE FILL THE TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Bring the vehicle back full to avoid a charge or Payless will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling service fee will apply per gallon.

Driving is restricted to main island, Puerto Rico.

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace
period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

.It is the policy of Payless to have the confirmed vehicle available during normal business hours for the calendar day of the scheduled arrival.

Liability Insurance

Liability Insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to third persons or their property. Liability insurance does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. State and Country laws determine whether your personal auto liability insurance or our liability insurance will pay for injuries you cause to others while driving our vehicle."



SUPPLEMENTAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

SLI - $9.95 per day
You can purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). SLI increases liability coverage to an amount up to $1 million combined single limit for each accident (the amount depends on which Payless location makes the rental; rates vary. This coverage expands your liability protection, perhaps even beyond your own personal auto policy. SLI is an optional product and its purchase is not a condition of rental.

All drivers must meet the renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. See also age, driver's license, driving records, and credit cards.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES:
- Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.
- Payless requires written proof in English of liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number.

Shuttle service is provided to and from the airport. Proceed to shuttle at designated car rental pickup area.

Child Seat Infant / Toddler - $8.99 per day up to a maximum of $44.99 for the full term of the rental.

GPS system, based on availability, $9.95 per day.
