Additional / Authorized drivers are permitted if they meet the minimum age requirements, present a valid photo drivers license and credit card in his/her own name. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply to the additional authorized driver.

The additional driver surcharge is $5 per day

After hour returns are not permitted.

Renter must be 25 years of age with a valid drivers license and a major credit card in his/her own name.

Renters 21 through 24 years of age with a valid drivers license and a major credit card in his/her own name - add an additional $5 per day surcharge.

If you do not purchase Collision Damage Waiver, you are responsible for all damage to the rented vehicle, regardless of cause.

If you purchase Collision Damage Waiver, we will waive all, or a portion of our right to collect from you for damage to the rented vehicle caused by collision or upset. The amount of your responsibility varies according to the type of vehicle you rent. We will not waive our right to collect for comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. In addition there are other exclusions from Collision Damage Waiver. Please read the back of the Payless Rental agreement for a complete list of exclusions.

CDW rates per day;

Economy Cars:
$14.99 USD per day - $500.00 USD deductible
$25.99 USD per day - $ -0- deductible

Intermediate & Standard size cars:
$14.99 USD per day - $1,000 USD deductible
$25.99 USD per day - $ -0- deductible

Compact SUV's:
$18.99 USD per day - $1000.00 USD deductible
$29.99 USD per day $ -0- deductible

Standard and Full Size SUV's:
$18.99 USD per day - $1,500.00 USD deductible
$29.99 USD per day $-0- deductible

Debit cards are accepted. The estimated amount of the rental plus an additional amount of $500.00 will be assessed against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned check(s) or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process.

All vehicles are rented with a full tank.

OPTION #1 BUY A TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental, bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level. Credit will not be issued for unused fuel.

OPTION #2 WE FILL THE TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Bring the vehicle back full to avoid a charge or Payless will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling service fee will apply per gallon.

Vehicles are permitted to travel within Costa Rica only.

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace
period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will
apply from minute one.

It is the policy of Payless to have the confirmed vehicle available during normal business hours for the calendar day of the scheduled arrival.

Liability Insurance protects you all or in part against claims for injury you cause to third persons or property other than yourself. It does not cover you or the rented vehicle. At this Payless location, the purchase of Supplemental liability Insurance is mandatory unless you can provide written evidence of Costa Rican liability coverage. Written proof from your insurance company or your credit card company must be verified and state specifically that coverage is effective in the country of Costa Rica for the vehicle type you are renting and for the entire term of the rental agreement.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is available for purchase. It is a protection which extends the liability coverage up to 40 millions colones per person and 100 million colones per accident.

If declining the SLI, an additional credit card approval of $5000.00 USD will be required.

One way rentals are not available at this time.

Cash Rentals: NOT ACCEPTED

Vouchers: NOT ACCEPTED

Personal Accident Insurance is not available.

All drivers must meet the renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. See also age, driver's license, driving records, and credit cards.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE COSTA RICA
- Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin
- Must have a valid passport
- This location requires written proof of Costa Rican liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number.
- RENTAL MUST FINISH BEFORE CUSTOMER HAS BEEN IN COSTA RICA FOR 3 MONTHS.
- PROOF OF ENTRY IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF RENTAL.

ERA- An optional Emergency Roadside Assistance program is available to
assist customers 24/7 in the event of the need for emergency service. You
may purchase ERA at a charge of $1.99 per day. Please request it at the time
of rental.

Please call the location for shuttle pick up then proceed to exit the main terminal where a Payless Agent will be waiting for you.

Infant Seats - $5 per day
Toddler Seats- $5 per day
GPS - $9.95 per day

License Plate Fee - 3%
