Additional Driver Surcharge: $5.00 per day

Additional Drivers must meet the minimum age requirements, present a valid drivers license and credit card. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply to the additional driver.

Renter must be 25 years of age with a valid drivers license and a major credit card in his/her own name.

Renters between 21-24 years of age add an additional $15.00 per day surcharge. Underage surcharge will not appear in total pricing.

Collision Damage Waiver/Responsibility for Vehicle Damage:

If you do not purchase Collision Damage Waiver, you are responsible for all damage to the rented vehicle.

If you purchase Collision Damage Waiver, we will waive all, or a portion of, our right to collect from you for damage to the rented vehicle caused by collision or upset. The amount of your responsibility varies according to the type of vehicle you rent. We will not waive our right to collect for comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. In addition there are other exclusions from Collision Damage Waiver. Please read the back of the Payless Rental Agreement for a complete list of exclusions.

CDW Cost:
$19.95 per day. with a $500 deductible for compact, intermediate, standard and full size cars.

$29.95 per day, with a $600 deductible for standard and full size pickups;- mini vans;- intermediate, full size and premium vans;- intermediate and standard SUVs.

Debit cards are not accepted at this time.

All vehicles are rented with a full tank of gasoline and must be returned full. Pre-paid fuel options are available. Please check at rental counter for details.

Unlimited mileage applies within the island of Puerto Rico.

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

It is the policy of Payless to have the confirmed vehicle available during normal business hours for the calendar day of the scheduled arrival.

LIABILITY INSURANCE
Liability insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to persons or property other than yourself. It does not cover you or the rented vehicle. All Payless vehicles are covered by policies of insurance that provide coverage up to the minimums prescribed by the financial responsibility laws of the country in which the accident occurs. This can be as low as $10,000.

If an accident occurs, either your personal auto insurance or the Payless liability insurance, or both of them will pay the claim, depending on the law of the country where the accident occurred.

SLI
$8.95 per day
You can purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) where offered. If you do, your liability coverage increases to either $500,000 or $1 million (depending on which Payless location makes the rental, see specific location policies for exact coverage amount), combined single limit for each accident. This coverage greatly expands your liability protection, perhaps even beyond your own personal auto policy. Your decision whether or not to purchase this increased liability coverage can be made at the time of rental.

If you do not have a personal auto insurance policy or proof of this coverage at time of rental, Payless may require you to purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance.

PAI
PAC/PAI - $3.00 per day
Personal Accident Coverage/Personal Accident Insurance: By electing to purchase optional PAC/PAI coverage at the designated daily rate, the renter and any of his passengers are insured while occupying the rental vehicle subject to all provisions of the group policy. PAC/PAI cost may vary by location.

PEC
$1.00 per day
Personal Effects Coverage: PEC provides coverage for actual cash value of personal property which the renter is traveling with against loss or damage. When the renter has shown acceptance on the rental agreement, the renter and renter's immediate family are insured for the period of rental, subject to all provisions of the group policy. PEC cost may vary by location.

All drivers must meet the renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. See also age, driver's license, driving records, and credit cards.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES:
- Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.
- Payless requires written proof in English of liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number

Mercedita Airport

Shuttle service provided to and from the airport and local hotels.
