NU Car Rentals - Mexico Policies & Insurance

When a vehicle is rented from NU Car Rentals, it is subjet to certain restrictions and limitations under the laws of jurisdiction. The customer is fully responsable for any loss or damage to the rental vehicle, regardless of cause. Where Collision Damage Waiver is offered and accepted by the customer for an additional daily charge, we will waive all or part, as indicated in the rental agreement, as long as the customer does not violate the terms & conditions provided in the rental agreement, If at the time of rental the customer cannot present valid proof of coverage in mexico for loss/damage to the rental vehicle, he/she will be required to purchase cdw as a condition of rental, International travelers should be prepared to present valid proof of coverage (in Mexico) to include a a description of the rental vehicle. CDW is offered only where permitted by law. Credit card insurances are NOT accepted.

Baby seats may be available for rental at most locations. These may be requested at the time of rental, but are based on availability and cannot be guaranteed.

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel, and must be returned full, or additional charges will apply as outlined in the rental agreement.

One way rentals in Mexico are not allowed. Renters must return the vehicle to the renting location.

Rental vehicle may not be driven outside the country of Mexico.

Renters must be at least 25 years of age and possess a major credit card and a valid driver's license. Maximum age is 70. Underage drivers may rent for an additional 15.00USD/day.

At certain times of the year it will be necessary to provide a credit card guarantee in order to reserve a car. Certain car types may require a credit card guarantee year round. If your reservation requires a credit card in order to book, please be sure to cancel at least 48 hours in advance in order to avoid any cancellation fee. This fee compensates us for our inability to rent the vehicle while it was reserved for your use. Reservations MUST be cancelled through the original booking source.

Visa, Master Card, and American Express credit cards are accepted. The following taxes/fees are in addition to the basic rental rate: 10.0% federal tax, 3.0% license fee, and 2.0% airport fee. A deposit is required in the amount of 1,000.00 USD over the estimated total rental amount.
