For a Second/ Additional driver EUR6.00 per day to be paid locally - Additional drivers to be added at the rental counter - He/She must be physically present.

Alpha Categories only:
Road Tax: EUR4.14 per day (for a maximum of 14 days) to be paid locally - for pick ups until the 20 August 2011

To extend your contract, you must contact our US offices before the end of your original contract. Your extension will be calculated at the same daily rate as your original contract. If you do not contact the US office, your rate will be calculated at the local rate, which may be higher.

Baby seats, snow chains, GPS Navigation Systems and ski racks are available for additional fees.
If you are in need of any of these, please insert your request in the comments box of your reservation.

Changes to itinerary are subject to a $25 change fee when the change requires a re-issuance of the rental voucher.

For Alpha Categories ONLY: If vehicle is returned early, the unused portion of the rental will be refunded after recalculating the rental rate for the new rental duration, plus one day (the drop off day).

For Numerical Categories: unused days are non-refundable.

Rates are quoted in US Dollars and include:

Extra optional insurance is available for purchase at the counter to cover the deductibles.

All cars are delivered with a full tank of gas. A refundable deposit or approx. 250.00 Euros is blocked at the start of the hire. The deposit will be unblocked if the car is returned with a full tank of gas, otherwise a refueling charge of 18.00 Euros plus the cost of the missing fuel will be applied.

If any traffic fines are received during the rental period, a 60.00 Euro non-refundable handling fee per ticket, in addition to the fine itself will apply.
**Please be advised Italy does have traffic cameras, in these situations you will not get a physical ticket on your car. It is highly recommended that before traveling you get a acquainted with the traffic signs and/or restricted areas that apply to the specific cities you will be driving in**

Car Italy & Tours is not responsible for the time period it takes for the authorities to process the violation.

For Rental Pick Ups:
there is a tolerance of 2hrs. from the pick up time originally booked after which the vehicle may no longer be available.

For Rental Drop Offs:
For Alpha Categories: there is a tolerance of 59 minutes & For Numerical Categories: there is a tolerance of 29 minutes, after which one extra rental day payable locally at the local official rates, will be applied (unless rental is extended with our US office in advance)

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available at time of vehicle pickup for an additional charge.

Car rates for alpha categories are inclusive of a maximum of 20.000.000.00 Euros per incident covering public liability, property, damage, fire and theft.

Numeric categories are inclusive of a maximum coverage on public liability per incident (in Italy named RC Auto) of 6.000.000 Euros split as below:
max 1.000.000 Euros per person involved up to a max of 5.000.000,00 Euros and a maximum of 1.000.000. Euros for property damages

24 hour road side assistance is available in case of vehicle breakdown within Italy only.

No maintenance or repairs to the vehicle will be refunded unless prior authorization has been obtained by the renting car rental company (please use road side assistance in case of mechanical breakdown).

Although every effort will be made to supply the car requested, we are not able to guarantee a particular model in a category. If the model requested is unavailable, you will receive a model from the same vehicle group. If a car from the same group is unavailable, you will be supplied with an upgrade at no extra cost.

Damage to windshield (glass in general), tires, roof, & undersides of vehicles are not included in the rental cost, unless the customer decides to purchase the Additional Insurance available at the pick up counter.

IMPORTANT: Damages to the tapestry, the interior of the vehicle and mechanical parts of the vehicle (gear, clutch, etc.) remain not covered by any insurance.

- In case of loss and/or damages and/or theft of the vehicle documents, the client will be liable to pay 50,00 Euros + tax.
- In case of loss and/or damages and/or theft of the vehicle keys, the client will be liable to pay 200,00 Euros + tax.
- In case of loss and/or damages and/or theft of any of the vehicle registration plates, the client will be billed for the sum of 360,00 Euros + tax.
- In case of loss and/or damages and/or theft of the GPS Navigation System the client will be liable for a fee of 350,00 Euros + tax.

One way rentals within Sicily, Mainland, Sardinia and between Sicily and Mainland for 1 and 2 days: 56,00 Euros to be paid locally

One way rental between Sardinia and the Mainland Italy or Sicily: 318,00 Euros be paid locally.

International Drivers Permits (IDP) is required.
Please contact your local automobile association to apply for an IDP.

Minimum Age: NONE

Age NONE to 24 - For groups A1/B/C/D/F, drivers must be at least 23 years of age and have held a full driving license for at least one year.

Age 25 to 26 -

Age 27 to 28 - For luxury car groups, the minimum age is 27, and have held a valid license for a minimum of three years.

Age 29 to A - A

The minimum rental age is is 25. The maximum age for rentals is 80.

No additional drivers permitted

A charge for a second/ additional driver applies. Alpha Categories: 6.00 Euros per day per driver Numerical Categories: 7.00 Euros per day per driver. Additional Drivers must be present at the time of pick up - added and paid for locally.

Cash deposits are not accepted.

- One way rental in and between Sicily and the Mainland for rentals of 1 or 2 days : €41,67 + VAT 20% - No charge for one way rentals of 3 or more days - One way rental in and between Sardinia and the Mainland Italy or Sicily: €230.00 +VAT 20% - All numerical categories have a one way fee of €38.73 + VAT 20%, or if going to/from Sicily, €51.65 + VAT 20%.

All rental rates include CDW/TLW coverage with deductibles as listed in rental policy. SuperPAI (personal accident insurance) is available for alpha categories (A-Z) for €6.00/day + VAT.
