Atwest Rent A Car Policies & Insurance

We offer both limited mileage rates and unlimited rates depending on vehicle you are renting and number of days you rent the vehicle. Bellow is the two options:

1. Unlimited Mileage Plans: You have free unlimited miles within California. If you plan to drive out of California, please let us know at the time of rental and your mileage can be changed to Limited mileage plan.

2. Limited Mileage Plan: You have 200 miles free per day or 1200 miles free per week. Extra miles will cost you 19 cents per mile. You can drive, within States of CA, NV and Arizona. We may allow other States with written approval and extra fees.

If you need to cancel your reservation, please do so, at least 24 hours before your pick up time. Otherwise 10% cancellation fee (minimum $25) or no-show fee will be charged to your credit card or debit card.

If you plan to pick up a vehicle after hour
normal office hours, the latest time to pick up the vehicle is 11:00 PM*, seven days a week. You must reconfirm your after-hour pick-up by a phone call during office hours on the same day you pick up the vehicle.

If you have already made a reservation to pick up a vehicle between the hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, please cancel your reservation or adjust the pick up time.

Normal Office Hours:
Los Angeles (8: AM to 7:00 PM weekdays, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends)
San Diego (9:00 AM to 7:00 PM weekdays, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday).
*We only provide service until 11:00 PM, if you have a confirmed reservation to pick up a car after normal hours.

If you are under the age of 21, and do have proof of car insurance in USA or Canada, please provide the following information on the reservation form.

1. Your insurance company name.
2. Insurance company or agent's phone number.
3. Your policy number.
4. Primary insured name, if not you. (in cases where the policy is under your parents name or etc.)

If you do not have proof of acceptable car insurance, you may request a reservation online at reservations.atwest-rentacar.com :
Please make sure you add "CDW and Liability Coverage" for "age 18 - to 20" to get the correct all-inclusive quote. After we receive your request, we will email your confirmation.

Atwest Rent A Car does rent to 21 to 24 year-old drivers. However, minimum 5.00 per day under-age-fee will be added to the price. You have the option of using your own insurance or purchase insurance online or at the counter.

LAX Airport drop off:
Free drop off from our Los Angeles location to LAX airport 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. (We may use 3rd party transportation to LAX airport after our normal office hours).
LAX Normal hours are 8 AM to 7 PM Monday to Friday.

San Diego Airport drop off:
There is no free drop off service from our San Diego Location to San Diego airport. We are located 3 miles away from the San Diego airport. For your drop off service to San Diego airport, Taxi is the best option. The cab fare is about $15.00 to the San Diego airport. For after-hour drop-off instructions in San Diego, please call .

The vehicle must be returned with same level of fuel as it was rented. Otherwise, refueling charges in addition to fuel cost will apply.

An amount no less than $250.00 plus the rental cost must be available on credit card when picking up the vehicle. This amount will be $350.00, plus rental, if using ATM debit card. Atwest Rent A Car does accept pre-paid debit card. We use ATM debit card and ATM only. That means you need your ATM PIN to use the card.

Free pick-up service provided from airport and hotels or within 2 miles radius of the airports. Please call for your free pick up when you arrive at the airport. We are located less than a mile from the airport and would take us about 10 minutes to pick you up.

More than 2 miles pick-up and drop-off are subject to additional fees and may not be available at all time. Free airport pick up provided between the hours of 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM seven days a week in both Los Angeles and San Diego. (24 hours advance reservation required if needing pick up after 6:00 PM)

Los Angeles Hours of Operation
8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Mondays-Fridays and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekends and Holidays. Office hours can be extended to 11:00 PM with 24-hour advance reservation. 24-Hour drop-off can be arranged upon request when picking up the car.

San Diego Hours of Operation
9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Mondays-Fridays and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday. Office hours can be extended to 11:00 PM with 24-hour advance reservation. 24-Hour drop-off can be arranged upon request when picking up the car.

Under-age fees apply to all under-age additional drivers. Fee is per driver and per day.

Cash deposits are accepted. If you use credit card, $250.00 plus the cost of the rental must be available on the card when picking up the vehicle. This amount is $350.00 plus the cost, if using other form of payment, including ATM debit card.
