No charge pick-ups and drop-offs within the same city limits.

If you are arriving by air and your pick up is at the Cancun Airport, then we would like to explain our procedure at the airport for your pick up:

One of our car rental representatives will be waiting for you at the arrival gate with a noticeable sign with the America Car Rental logo and your name clear and big for easy identification, then we will take you on our shuttle ride to our location which is 5 minutes from the airport where we will have your vehicle clean and ready for you. We don´t have a rental booth or telephones inside the airport, we always meet our clients outside the building, but is always very easy to identify us with our sign. For the drop-off you can select either your hotel, the airport or our location at your desired time.

2 additional drivers permitted at no extra charge

Minimum Age for Additional Drivers: 21

There are no restrictions on driving area

Cash deposits are accepted. When performing a Cash Deposit rental, the following are the amounts required for every vehicle:

For mini economy to compact vehicles:
$600.00 usd.
For mid-size to intermediate vehicles:
$700.00 usd.
For full size and 4 wheel drives or sport convertible vehicles:
$800.00 usd.
For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans:
$1000.00 usd

The following are also accepted for deposit:

Traveler's Cheques, VISA, Master Card, AMEX

America Car Rental accepts the following methods of payment:

Debit Card, Traveler's Cheques, VISA, Master Card, AMEX, Cash

In case of an accident, our insurance company requires that the driver´s name must be specified in the rental agreement, therefore, all driver´s must be authorized and have their names printed on the rental agreement. All authorized drivers must show a valid and current driver´s licence or permit with photograph.

Also, in case of an accident, in order to validate any insurance, driver must first call our company so we can send immediately our insurance agent to the place of the accident.

----------------------------------------CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)----------------------------------------

CDW Lowers the driver´s responsability in case of an accident or theft. The following deductibles fees apply:

For Mini Economy, Economy, Compact and Mid-Size vehicles: 1,500 usd. For Intermediate, Standard and Full-Size vehicles: 1,900 usd. For 4 Wheel Drive vehicles: 2,000 usd. For Minivans, 8 & 12 Passenger Vans: 3,500 usd.

The cost of CDW is: For mini economy to full size and 4 wheel drive vehicles: $280.00 per month $70.00 per week $10.00 per day For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans: $560.00 per month $140.00 per week $20.00 per day

You may get 0% deductible fee by just adding 6.50 usd. per day for all kind of vehicles.

CDW is a damage or theft insurance for the rented vehicle only. CDW does not cover theft of accessories. CDW is not refundable and the coverage only applies within Mexico´s territory.

----------------------------------------EPC (Extended Protection Coverage----------------------------------------

EPC is an enhanced CDW, covers theft and total losses and damages, partial or complete, done to the rented vehicle in case of an accident.

This coverage applies 0% deductible fee for damages or theft done to the rented vehicle.

Does not cover missing accesories nor traffic violations.

The cost for EPC coverage is: For mini economy to full size and 4 wheel drive vehicles: $462.00 per month $115.50 per week $16.50 per day For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans: $742.00 per month $185.50 per week $26.50 per day

The coverage only applies within Mexico´s territory. EPC is a damage or theft insurance for the rented vehicle.

----------------------------------------PLI (Primary Liability Insurance----------------------------------------

The cost of PLI is 12.50 usd. per day for all kinds of vehicles.

PLI covers up to 80,000 usd. for liabilities caused by accident related expenses and legal assistance, when liability for other vehicles or people have been caused by the driver of the rented vehicle. PLI is mandatory.

PLI does not cover damages made to the rented vehicle nor medical expenses for its passengers. The coverage only applies within Mexico´s territory

----------------------------------------PAI (Personal Accident Insurance----------------------------------------

PAI covers medical expenses and ambulance service, doctors and hospital expenses in case of an accident. Coverage is up to 30,000 usd. per accident.

The cost for PAI is: For mini economy to full size and 4 wheel drive vehicles: $196.00 per month $49.00 per week $7.00 per day For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans: $266.00 per month $66.50 per week $9.50 per day

PAI is a personal accident insurance for the occupants of the rented vehicle. The coverage only applies within Mexico´s territory.
