Driving in the Netherlands
The minimum age of to drive in the Netherlands is 18 years old. To sit in the front seat, children must be at least 3 years of age and in a safety seat; younger children must sit in a safety seat in the rear. The use of seat belts is required for front-seat passengers. Cars are driven on the right-hand side of the road. Newcomers may find driving in town a little disconcerting because of the many cyclists who often ignore traffic lights, make unexpected turns and must be passed at close range. Right-of-way is that of the vehicle entering from the right unless the vehicle is coming out of a driveway. Roads posted with orange diamonds do not have to yield the right-of-way. Tourists are allowed to drive in the Netherlands on a valid state license, preferably in combination with an International Driver's License.

It's illegal to cross a continuous white line at any time, even when turning. In some areas, police are able to collect fines on the spot.

The legal blood alcohol limit is 50 mg.
Fuel
Unleaded petrol is called loodvrije benzine. Diesel is called dieselolie. LPG goes by its English name.
