Beach Tips

Discover beaches in Barbados. All beaches are public and many sea front properties must provide public right of way to the ocean.

There are no nude beaches in Barbados. Nudism is illegal and it is prudent to not wear swim suits in public places like markets and restaurants. Do not leave your valuables unattended while beaching, and if a vendor is harassing you, report the incident to the police. They patrol the beaches regularly.

Not all the beaches are sandy. There are mangrove swamps, cliffs, tide pools and areas where beds of low lying coral rock, sandstone, clay or shale reach out to the sea.Swimming is not recommended in all areas. Go with someone who knows the area as not every area is safe. The South Coast is particularly popular for windsurfing.
