Drinking And Driving Laws In New Brunswick
The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.08. The province of New Brunswick has now introduced a comprehensive strategy against drinking and driving. Anyone with a breathalyzer reading more than the legal limit of 0.08mg alcohol may be charged under the Criminal Code of Canada. The police have the authority to suspend for 24 hours the driver's license of any driver found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.05mg or greater. Anyone charged could also be fined or placed in jail for a length of time determined by the offense.
Parking in Saint John
There is more than enough parking in Saint John, whether it be on-street, in parking lots or garages. There are 750 metered on-street parking spaces in the uptown area, 2,200 spaces located in 17 surface parking lots located throughout the uptown, and 1,400 spaces in two centrally located parking garages. Hourly/daily parking lots operate 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, holidays excluded. Cost is usually $1.00 per hour, to a maximum of $7.00 per day. Overnight parking is permitted, costing $2.00 plus any time after 7:00 a.m., to a maximum of $9.00 per day.
