Car Rental Express.Com Inc. (CRX) is an international supplier of Internet solutions for independent car rental agencies. CRX builds, maintains, and hosts web-sites, writes soft-ware programs and supplies data base capabilities for self- managed central reservation systems and unique marketing modules. CRX also plans and implements distinctive Internet recognition and promotional strategies.

At one web address CRX provides car renters the opportunity to find a world-wide listing of independent car rental agencies using state-of-the-art Internet products that allow real-time car rental rates and reservations.

To sustain this mission statement CRX is devoted to:

Company History

Finding a rental car online was relatively easy in 1999…as long as you were reserving with one of the major chains (Avis, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, & Thrifty). Independent car rental agencies and Independent franchisees were not well-represented on the Internet.

Car Rental Express.Com Inc. (CRX) was founded to connect the car renting public with Independent Car Rental Agencies and Independent Franchisees. CRX is dedicated to bringing reservations to these Independents, and provides the car renting public with the better alternative to the corporately owned major car rental agencies.

  • October, 1999: concept planning and consulting with Wendy Govier of AClearPath.com
  • December, 1999: company founded by Karen Andersen and Stanley Levy. Stan was active in the daily car rental business as an independent in Vancouver, BC for over 20 years. Karen, a self taught programmer, partnered with Stan and the company was launched.
  • March, 2000: www.carrentalexpress.com went live on the Internet as a portal site linking to the web sites of a handful of independent Canadian and US car rental agencies.
  • February, 2001: the Express Rental Guide (ERG) was introduced: allowing independent car rental agencies to display real time rates and information and to self manage their web sites.
  • July, 2001: ERG version 2 was launched, allowing the car renter total price quotes.
  • December, 2001: A functional interface was established between TSD's rental management software and CRX's reservation systems.
  • January, 2002: ERG version 3 was implemented: Snapshot rate comparisons between car types, real-time discounts, and many more unique marketing modules: car sales, newsletters, customer lists, affiliate programs, quote saving, customer rewards programs, advanced coupons.
  • March, 2003: CRX becomes international with clients in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Summer/Fall, 2003: CRX will launch a connection between its reservation system and SideStep.
